PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-first day of the same month, at page 2429, whereby powers of appointing and removing trustees in respect of the Omaka Cemetery were delegated to the Marlborough County Council.

PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made on the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and published in the Gazette on the third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, at page 1217, whereby powers of appointing and removing trustees in respect of the Warwick Junction Cemetery were delegated to the Inangahua County Council.

Trustees for Warwick Junction Cemetery appointed

PURSUANT to section 55 of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Inangahua County Council
to be the trustees of the cemetery within the meaning of the said Act known as the Warwick Junction Cemetery, being the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to have the control and management thereof.

WARWICK JUNCTION CEMETERY
SECTION 6, Block XVI, Burnett Survey District, Nelson Land District, containing 9 acres 3 roods 38 perches.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 11th day of September, 1946.

Trustees for Omaka Cemetery appointed

PURSUANT to section 55 of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand do hereby appoint the Marlborough County Council
to be the trustees of the cemetery within the meaning of the said Act known as the Omaka Cemetery, being the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to have the control and management thereof.

OMAKA CEMETERY
PART Lot 1 of Section 28, District of Omaka, containing by admeasurement 23 acres 0 roods 4 perches, more or less.
Also Lot 2, D.P. 771, being portion of Lot 4 of Section 28, and portion of Lot 2 of Section 27, District of Omaka, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 13 perches, more or less.
Also Section 8, Block III, Taylor Pass Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 30 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 17th day of September, 1946.

Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927.—Amendment No. 55

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 25th day of May, 1927.
SCHEDULE

These regulations may be cited as the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, Amendment No. 55.

These regulations shall be read together with and form part of the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927 (hereinafter called the principal regulations).

These regulations shall come into force on the day following notification in the Gazette of the making hereof, except as otherwise provided.

Appendix VIII of the principal regulations (as heretofore amended by Amendment No. 35) is further amended as follows:—
THE EFFICIENCY DECORATION
(1) Paragraph 17: After subparagraph 5 (a) (vi) add:—
“ (vii) In the Royal Navy, the Regular Army, the Royal Air Force, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Permanent Forces, the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, the New Zealand Temporary Staff, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, or a Permanent Force of a British Dominion or Colony during the period 2nd September, 1939, and the date of the disbandment of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force: Provided the officer was commissioned between these dates and subsequently obtained a commission in an Auxiliary Force.”
“ (viii) In Class I or Class II of the New Zealand National Military Reserve subsequent to 20th July, 1939, and service in the New Zealand Home Guard subsequent to the 10th September, 1941 (on which date the Home Guard was constituted a part of the New Zealand Defence Forces).”
(2) Paragraph 17: After subparagraph 6 add:—
“ (6A) An officer of the New Zealand Territorial Force or the National Military Reserve who was serving on a voluntary agreement in any authorized Auxiliary Force of the Empire or its Reserves on the 2nd September, 1939, shall be entitled, provided he actually served, or was attested and thereby accepted the obligation for service beyond the boundaries of the Dominion, Colony, &c., in the forces of which he was serving on the 2nd September, 1939, to count as two-fold all embodied service as an officer on the active list between the 2nd September, 1939, and the date of disbandment of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and all such embodied service in the ranks on the active list between those dates as full single qualifying service towards the twenty years required, whether such service was in the Naval Forces, Military Forces, or Air Forces of any part of the Empire: Provided that this paragraph shall not apply to embodied service in the New Zealand or any other forces rendered in the performance of training that would have been acquired if a state of war had not existed between the dates herein mentioned.”
(3) Paragraph 17, subparagraph 7 (a), fifth line: After “ (5) (a) (vi) ” insert “ (5) (a) (vii).”
THE EFFICIENCY MEDAL
(4) Paragraph 18, subparagraph (5) (i), third line: Delete “ and Cadets,” and substitute “ Class I or Class II National Military Reserve subsequent to 20th July, 1939, Home Guard subsequent to 10th September, 1941, and Cadets ”.
(5) Paragraph 18: After subparagraph (5) (ii) add:—
“ (ii) (a) Commissioned service in the case of those men who were commissioned after service in the ranks of an authorized Auxiliary Force of the Empire during the period 2nd September, 1939, and the date of disbandment of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and who, having relinquished their commissions, re-enlist in the ranks of an authorized auxiliary force prior to 1st January, 1949.”
(6) Paragraph 18: After subparagraph (5) (iv) add:—
“ (v) Service in the Royal Navy, the Regular Army, the Royal Air Force, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Permanent Forces, the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, the New Zealand Temporary Staff or the Royal New Zealand Air Force, only during the period 2nd September, 1939, and the date of disbandment of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force.”
