THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Replacement of the existing timber bridge across the Manga-o-nuku River, including a deviation:

(h) Hastings-Waimarama:

Replacement of Van Asch's Bridge across the Tukituki River:

(i) Fernhill-Takapau:

Improvement and deviation at Gwavas:

(j) Weber-Dannevirke-Waipukurau:

Reconstruction and sealing, particularly in Dannevirke and Weber Counties:

(k) Gisborne-Wairoa via Moree:

Replacement by permanent reinforced concrete structures of the temporary bridges over the Maraetaha River and completion of sealing:

(l) Mahia Peninsula:

The construction of a road circuit of the Peninsula to open up the farm lands:

(m) Street improvements and sealing in Hastings:

(n) Street improvements and sealing in Napier, including the Kennedy Road extension, and the construction of the two-way road on the Marine Parade:

(o) Frasertown-Waikaremoana:

Improvements, including renewal of Wairoa Bridge at Frasertown.

(3) Railways:

Improved rail facilities for all classes of traffic, including-

(a) Complete reconstruction of the station and yard at Hastings on a new site:

(b) A new goods marshalling yard at Napier.

(4) Airways:

Improvement of airstrips and other facilities throughout the area, particularly at Gisborne, Napier, and Hastings, the construction of a new aerodrome at Wairoa, and the provision of airfields at Te Araroa, Ruatoria, Motuhora, Opoutama, Mohaka, Waipukurau, and Dannevirke.

(5) Harbours-

(a) Improvement of the Napier Harbour and facilities, and the extension of the breakwater:

(b) Foreshore reclamation, road and rail deviation, and the removal of the road approach to the wharf at Napier to the shore side of the railway.

(6) Road Transport:

Additional facilities for transport of passengers and goods generally within the area.

5. Utilities

(1) Electricity Supply:

Additional generating and substations; transmission-lines, and reticulation, and supply of electricity within the area generally, and in particular-

(a) Water-power development at Lake Waikaremoana, including stations at Kaitawa and a new station below Piripaua:

(b) Transmission-lines, Waikaremoana to Bunnythorpe and Gisborne to Tokomaru Bay:

(c) A new substation near Hastings.

(2) Water-supply, sewerage, and storm-water drainage:

new and additional works in various parts of the area, including-

(a) Dannevirke Borough:

Water-supply extension and general renovations and improvements to the existing sewerage reticulation:

(b) Hastings Borough:

Extensions of storm-water drainage and sewerage, and new pumps for sewerage and water-supply:

(c) Napier Borough:

Storm-water drainage; Marewa sewerage scheme, including the installation of gravity sewers, a pumping-station, and rising mains:

(d) Gisborne Borough:

Sewerage extension in Mangapapa, Kaiti, and Te Hapara, and reconditioning of existing sewers; laying new water main from Waingake; water-supply for Mangapapa, Kaiti, and Te Hapara:

(e) Wairoa Borough:

Complete sewerage reticulation system and pumping-station.

6. Subdivisional Development

(1) The development of areas for residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational purposes throughout the area, including the construction of dwellinghouses and other works provided for by the Housing Act, 1919, and other Acts, more particularly at Napier, Hastings, and Gisborne.

(2) The subdivision, regrouping, and improvement of lands affected by the reclamation and drainage works, and the better utilization thereof.

(3) The reconstruction and improvement, where necessary, of existing roads, streets, and bridges approaching and servicing developmental works.

7. Social Services

The provision of sites, buildings, and services throughout the area for social and cultural and recreational purposes, including-

(1) Educational-

(a) New workshop and new domestic science room and additional class-rooms at the Hastings High School:

(b) New intermediate school at Hastings:

(c) New girls' high school at Gisborne:

(d) New secondary department building at Waipawa District High School:

(e) New primary department building at Te Karaka District High School:

(f) New primary school at Otane.

(2) Health:

The provision of new wards or buildings to the existing hospitals controlled by the Waiapu, Cook, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, Waipawa, and Dannevirke Hospital Boards, and new buildings at the Pukeora Sanatorium.

(3) Cultural:

The erection of buildings for a community centre, with accommodation for libraries, meeting-rooms, recreational rooms, gymnasia, offices, and a little theatre at Hastings; and the erection of a similar building, with accommodation for town board offices, at Havelock North.

(4) Recreational:-

(a) The development of additional fields and amenities at Windsor and Nelson Parks in Hastings, with a new road-approach and grandstand at Nelson Park:

(b) The development of additional fields and amenities at South Pond, Kennedy and Marewa Parks, Napier, and of a domain at Westshore.

8. Defence

Construction and improvement of defence installations.

9. Public Administration

New facilities for Government and local administration, including-

(1) New Courthouse, law library, and new central police-station and offices at Napier:

(2) New stores and depot for the Public Works Department and State Hydro-electric Department at Napier:

(3) New departmental buildings to house various Government Departments at Napier and Gisborne, and various buildings at other towns within the area.

SECOND SCHEDULE

All that area in the Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, and Wellington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast, being the south-eastern corner of Whangaparaoa Part lA Block, in Block III, Whangaparaoa North Survey District; thence northerly and easterly along the sea-coast, crossing the mouths of all rivers, inlets, harbours, and other waters to East Cape, and southerly generally along the sea-coast, crossing the mouths of all rivers, inlets, harbours, and other waters to the mouth of the Waimata Stream, being the southernmost point of Weber County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1921, at page 583; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of the Weber County aforesaid, the southern boundary of Dannevirke County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1926, at page 125, the southern boundary of Woodville County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1928, at page 1168, to the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Subdivision X of the Manchester Block, in Block II, Gorge Survey District; thence northerly generally along the western boundaries of the said Woodville County, the said Dannevirke County, Waipawa County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1930, at page 2684, Hawke’s Bay County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1942, at page 950, to a point in the middle of the Mohaka River, on the production of the right line between Trig. Stations 65A and 68A, in Blocks XXI and XIII, Kaweka Survey District, respectively; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station, Taumutu, Block XVI, Heruiwi Survey District; thence north-easterly along the boundary of the Taupo County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1933, at page 12, to the westernmost corner of the Wairoa County; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western boundary of the Wairoa County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1918, at page 941, the north-western boundary of the Waikohu County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1946, at page 376; the north-western boundary of Waiapu County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1925, at page 2607, the western boundary of Matakana County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1925, at page 2607, to the south-eastern corner of Whangaparaoa Part lA Block, in Block III, Whangaparaoa North Survey District, being the point of commencement.
