WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitemata County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the realignment and reconstruction of the Beach Road Main Highway passing through or adjoining the several pieces of land referred to hereunder in the Takapuna Riding—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, situated at the Council Chambers, 1 Princes Street, Auckland, and are open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

SCHEDULE

All of the above lands being situate in Block IV, Waitemata Survey District, and in the County of Waitemata and the Land District of Auckland.

WAITEMATA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waitemata Electric-power Board Consumers’ Advances Loan, 1946, of £25,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, section 15 of the Statutes Amendment Act 1938, and amendments and regulations made thereunder respectively, the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £25,000 (twenty-five thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitemata Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purposes of (a) making advances to the owners of any premises for the purpose of enabling them to do all things necessary to connect their premises with the Board’s electric works, or for the purpose of assisting them to purchase motors, fittings, machinery, and other equipment for the use of electrical energy in their premises; (b) installing motors, electric wires, electric lamps, and other fittings and equipment in exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by section 118 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925; (c) purchasing motors, fittings, machinery, and other equipment for sale or lease in exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by section 120 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/18th (one-eighteenth) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric-power District, as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 18th day of October, 1923, and altered by Proclamations appearing in the New Zealand Gazettes dated the 27th day of November, 1924, the 26th day of August, 1926, the 7th day of March, 1929, and the 24th day of January, 1935; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 (ten) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Waitemata Electric-power Board at a meeting held on Monday, 22nd July, 1946.
