WHAKATU STORES, LIMITED
IN LIQUIDATION
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter
of WHAKATU STORES, LIMITED (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 232 of the
Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the above-
named company will be held at the office of Carr and Stanton,
Public Accountants, Karamu Road, Hastings, on Wednesday, the
14th day of August, 1946, at 8 o’clock in the evening, for the purpose
of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner
in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of
the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that
may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extra-
ordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and
documents of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be
disposed of.

members of the above-mentioned association held at Orawia
on the 13th day of July, 1946, it was resolved that the affairs of the
above-mentioned association be voluntarily wound up, pursuant
to the provisions of section 24 of the above-mentioned Act.

ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waterworks and Drainage Loan, 1945
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and in pursuance
and exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it in this
behalf, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal,
and other charges on a special loan of £8,200, authorized to be raised
by the Ashburton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of affording adequate and up-to-date water and
drainage facilities for the district known as Allenton, the said Ash-
burton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
fourpence halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Allenton
area of the Borough of Ashburton, described in the special roll of
the said Allenton area prepared under section 3 of the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1926 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years from the 31st
day of August, 1946, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and in pursuance
and exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it in this
behalf, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and
other charges on a special loan of £15,250, authorized to be raised
by the Ashburton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of improving the water-supply for the Allenton area
of the borough, the said Ashburton Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of eightpence halfpenny in the pound upon
the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable
property of the Allenton area of the Borough of Ashburton, described
in the special roll of the said Allenton area prepared under section 3
of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 ; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years
from the 31st day of August, 1946, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Drainage Loan, 1946
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and in pursuance
and exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it in this
behalf, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal,
and other charges on a special loan of £4,250, authorized to be raised
by the Ashburton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of improving the drainage facilities for the Borough
of Ashburton, the said Ashburton Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of threepence in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of
the Hampstead area of the Borough of Ashburton, described in the
special roll of the said Hampstead area prepared under section 3 of
the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 ; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years
from the 31st day of July, 1946, or until the loan is paid fully off.”

MEDICAL REGISTRATION
I, JOHN McMILLAN MENNELL, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., 1939,
D.M.R.E., 1942, now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice
that I intend applying on the 20th September, 1946, to have my name
placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ;
and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the
office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland Transport Board
proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, the
erecti on of a garage for electric trolley buses and motor-omnibuses
—and for the purposes of such public work the pieces of land
described in the Schedule are required to be taken.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objection
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
pieces of land or any of them must state their objections in writing,
and send the same, within forty days from the date of the first
publication of this notice, to the said the Auckland Transport
Board, No. 43 Customs Street West, Auckland C. 1.
SCHEDULE
First, all that piece of land containing 8 acres 3 roods 30 perches,
being Lot 4 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at
Auckland as No. 2397, being part of Allotment 89 of the Parish of
Titirangi, and being all of the land comprised and described in
certificate of title registered in Vol. 102, folio 225 (Auckland
Registry).
Secondly, all those pieces of land containing together 5 acres
24·1 perches, more or less, being Lots 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14,
15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 on a plan deposited in the Land
Registry Office at Auckland as No. 23119 (Town of Edendale
Extension No. 32), and being portion of Allotment 89 of the Parish
of Titirangi, and being all of the land comprised and described in
certificate of title registered in Vol. 851, folio 97 (Auckland
Registry).
Thirdly, all those pieces of land containing together 3 roods
8 perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 on a plan deposited
in the Land Registry Office at Auckland as No. 23119 (Town of
Edendale Extension No. 32), and being portion of Allotment 89 of
the Parish of Titirangi, and being all of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title registered in Vol. 843, folio 144
(Auckland Registry).
Fourthly, all that piece of land containing 4·7 perches, more
or less, being Lot 7 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office
at Auckland as No. 23119 (Town of Edendale Extension No. 32),
and being portion of Allotment 89 of the Parish of Titirangi, and
being all of the land comprised and described in certificate of title
registered in Vol. 831, folio 135 (Auckland Registry).
