A PPLICATION having been made to me to register a re-entry
by the MAYOR, COUNCILLORS, AND BURGESSES OF
THE BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH, as lessor, under Memorandum
of Lease No. 2381, of all that parcel of land containing 2 roods
and 2·3 perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No.
684, being Subdivision 13 and part Subdivision 14 of Municipal
Reserve No. 51, Town of Greymouth, and being part of the land
in certificate of title, Vol. 20, folio 8, and the whole of the land
in leasehold certificate of title, Vol. 32, folio 182 (Westland
Registry), of which HENRY SWIFT, of Greymouth, Butcher, is
the registered lessee, I hereby give notice that I will register such
re-entry as requested after the expiration of one month from the
date of the Gazette containing this notice.

E VIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of certificate of
title, Vol. 46, folio 244 (Canterbury Registry), for part Lots
24, 25, and 26 on Deposited Plan 44, part of Rural Sections 3344
and 4041, situate in the Southbridge Town District, whereof JAMES
BEAMSLEY, of Southbridge, Labourer (now deceased), is the
registered proprietor, together with an application for a new certi-
cate of title in lieu thereof, I hereby give notice of my intention to
issue such new certificate of title at the expiration of fourteen days
from 6th June, 1946.

THE WAITAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
T HE Waitaki Electric-power Board at its meeting on 27th May,
1946, resolved :—
“ That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose
of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £30,000,
to be known as Extension Loan, 1946, authorized to be raised
by the Waitaki Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned
Act and under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and the Finance
Act (No. 2), 1936, for the purpose of constructing and erecting
additional transmission and distribution lines and substations,
augmenting existing lines and substations, purchasing and erecting
all necessary equipment therefor, and generally exercising such of
the Board’s rights and powers as may be deemed expedient under
the authority of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and amend-
ments, the said Waitaki Electric-power Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of three-fortieths of a penny in the pound on
the capital value of all rateable property in the said Board’s district ;
and it is hereby further resolved that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and
shall be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
the twenty-five years’ currency of the said loan, or until the said
loan has been fully repaid, and that the said special rate be and
the same is hereby appropriated and pledged as security for the
interest and principal repayment charges or sinking-fund charges
and other charges under the securities to be issued.”

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A TRANSIT HOUSING
CENTRE
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and in the matter
of the Local Authorities (Temporary Housing) Emergency
Regulations 1944.
W HEREAS it is provided by Regulations 3 and 4 of the above-
mentioned regulations as follows :—
-
For the purpose of providing temporary accommodation
for persons awaiting the allocation to them of State houses or the
provision of other housing accommodation, any local authority may,
by resolution, with the prior approval of the Minister of Finance,
establish a transit housing centre on any land owned or held
by the local authority or otherwise under the control of the local
authority. -
Any local authority may take, under the Public Works Act,
1928, purchase, take on lease, or otherwise acquire, or arrange for
the use of any land for the purpose of a transit housing centre.
And whereas it is the intention of the Hastings Borough Council
to provide and maintain land within the Borough of Hastings to
be used for a transit housing centre :
Now, therefore, notice is hereby given that the Hastings
Borough Council proposes, under the aforesaid provisions and under
all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to take for the
purpose of a certain public work—namely, for a transit housing
centre—the land described in the Schedule hereto :
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town
Clerk of the said Council at Hastings Street, Hastings, and is there
open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
land are hereby called upon to set forth the same in writing, and
to send such writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Hastings Borough Council addressed to the
Town Clerk at his said office.
THE SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken for the above public
work : 1 acre 1 rood 38·9 perches.
Being Lot No. 127 and part of Lot No. 126 of Block No. 9 on
Deposited Plan No. 362, situated in Sylvan Road, in the
Borough of Hastings ; coloured yellow on the said plan.
As the said piece of land is shown on the plan deposited for
inspection as aforesaid, and situate in the Borough of Hastings in
the Land Registration District of Hawke’s Bay.
