Notice of Intention to take Land and a Leasehold Estate or Interest in Land in the Borough of Greymouth for Post and Telegraph Purposes (Line Store, Garage, and Workshop)
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a line store, garage, and workshop—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the First Schedule hereto and the leasehold estate or interest in the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, held from the Greymouth Harbour Board by William Thomas Ogilvie, of Greymouth, Sawmiller, under an unregistered memorandum of lease for a term of twenty-one years commencing on the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken and of the land in respect of which the leasehold estate or interest is so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Greymouth and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land, or the taking of the said leasehold estate or interest in land, should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, or to the taking of such leasehold estate or interest in land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
FIRST SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 rood. Being Sections 99 and 100, Town of Greymouth; edged yellow.
SECOND SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land in respect of which the leasehold estate or interest is required to be taken: 2 acres 2 roods 0·2 perches.
Being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 460, part Reserves 82 and 83 and part Section 471, Town of Greymouth; edged red.
All situated in the Borough of Greymouth (Westland R.D.).
In the Westland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 123472, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 28th day of November, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas an appeal was lodged by the owner against the order determining the basic value:
And whereas the Land Sales Court has dismissed such appeal:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 28th day of June, 1946, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
First, all that area situated in Block VI, Tokatoka Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and forty-five (145) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being portion of Allotment 14, Tatarariki Parish, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 763, folio 238 (Auckland Registry) (limited as to title and parcels).
Secondly, all that area situated in Blocks VI and X, Tokatoka Survey District, containing by admeasurement thirty-three (33) acres two (2) roods four decimal seven (4·7) perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment 22, Tatarariki Parish, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 763, folio 86 (Auckland Registry) (limited as to title and parcels).

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy Rates
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 1st June, 1946.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1946, to 31st March, 1947, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 3rd July, 1946.
The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of the same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, sevenpence and fifty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (7·57d.) in the pound.
CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (4·33d.) in the pound.
CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1·08d.) in the pound.
