Appointing a Commissioner of the Lower Clutha River Trust

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the 13th day of June, 1944, and published in Gazette No. 49 of the 15th day of the same month, Andrew Alex Jensen, of Stirling, Farmer, was appointed a Commissioner of the Lower Clutha River Trust in terms of section 3, subsection (1), of the Lower Clutha River Improvement Act, 1938: And whereas the said Andrew Alex Jensen has now resigned, and it is considered expedient to appoint another Commissioner in lieu of the said Andrew Alex Jensen:

Now, therefore, I, Robert Semple, the Minister of Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3, subsection (1), of the Lower Clutha River Improvement Act, 1938, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby cancel the appointment of the said Andrew Alex Jensen to be a Commissioner of the Lower Clutha River Trust and do hereby appoint John William Fenton, Esquire, of Kaitangata, to be a Commissioner of the Lower Clutha River Trust.

Member of Wairau Rabbit Board appointed.—(Notice No. Ag. 4294)

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased, in pursuance of section 56 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, to appoint, on the 28th day of May, 1946—

Amending the Appointment of Licensing Authorities in Terms of the Transport Licensing Amendment Act, 1936

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Transport Licensing Amendment Act, 1936, I, James O’Brien, Minister of Transport—

(a) Do hereby revoke as from the 14th day of June, 1946, the appointment of Thomas Herbert Langford as District Licensing Authority for No. 4 Transport District made by Warrant dated the 1st day of April, 1946*;

(b) Do hereby appoint as from the 14th day of June, 1946, Stanley Victor Raines as District Licensing Authority for No. 4 Transport District.

to be officers for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Auckland Acclimatization District.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed

BERNARD GORE BRETT, Esquire, of Melbourne, in Victoria, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at New Plymouth and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
