NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of a workers’ dwelling or dwellings—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Whakatane County Council situated at The Strand, Whakatane, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the said Council at the said office.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the parcel of land required to be taken :
1 rood.
Situated in the Whakatane Borough (Francis Street), and being Allotment 257, Parish of Waimana, and being all the land in certificate of title 43/271 (Auckland Registry).

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, that, by a special resolution which is dated 8th day of November, 1945, it was duly resolved—

I, HARMAN WARREN, Secretary of Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Limited, do solemnly and sincerely declare :—
1. That the liability of the members is limited.
2. That the capital of the company is £500,000, made up as follows—100,000 shares of £1 each fully paid, £100,000 ; £400,000 “ A ” and “ B ” perpetual debenture stock, which ranks for payment after all ordinary creditors, £400,000 : total, £500,000.
3. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates is £480,364 8s. 10d. for the year ended 30th September, 1945.
4. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates is £450,814 18s. 5d. for the year ended 30th September, 1945.
5. That the amount of the balance held on 30th September, 1945, to the credit of estates under administration is £74,116 15s. 1d.
6. That the liabilities of the company on the 30th September last were £591,642 16s. 9d.
Debts owing to sundry persons by the company, viz. : On judgment, nil ; on specialty, nil ; on terminable debentures, nil ; on simple contracts, £591,642 16s. 9d. ; on estimated liabilities, nil.
7. That the assets of the company on that day were £1,207,109 3s. 4d.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand entitled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
