PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, notice has been received that—

Frederick Hook,
Walter Naera, and
Allan Roy Fell

have been duly elected to be members of the Waimamaku Bobby Calf Pool Committee established by the said regulations.

The Shipping Safety (Approaches to Auckland) Order 1945

PURSUANT to Regulation 4A of the Shipping Safety Emergency Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Defence doth hereby make the following Order :—

  1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Shipping Safety (Approaches to Auckland) Order 1945.
    (2) This Order shall take effect on the day following the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
  2. This Order shall apply with respect to all small craft, as defined in the Shipping Safety Emergency Regulations 1940,† to which the Shipping Control Emergency Regulations 1939‡ do not apply.
  3. No master or person in charge of any small craft to which this Order applies shall cause or permit the vessel to be in any part of the waters described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

PROHIBITED PASSAGE

FIRSTLY, the waters of Hauraki Gulf within the following limits: From a position in latitude 35° 42′ 00″ S., longitude 174° 41′ 48″ E. in a 092° 30′ direction to a position in latitude 35° 43′ 30″ S., longitude 175° 24′ 48″ E.; thence in a 180° direction to a position in latitude 35° 53′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 24′ 48″ E.; thence in a 090° direction to a position in latitude 35° 53′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 30′ 00″ E.; thence in a 180° direction to a position in latitude 36° 00′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 30′ 00″ E.; thence in a 248° direction to Needles Point on Aigulles Island; thence in a 273° direction to Sail Rock; thence in a 000° direction to the commencing point.

Secondly, the waters of Hauraki Gulf within the following limits: From Whakatautuna Point on Great Barrier Island along the parallel of 36° 10′ 00″ S. to the 100 fathom line in a position in latitude 36° 10′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 58′ 12″ E. (approximately); thence along the 100 fathom line to a position in latitude 36° 24′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 59′ 00″ E. (approximately); thence in a 270° direction to a position in latitude 36° 24′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 30′ 00″ E.; thence in a 000° direction to the coast of Great Barrier Island; thence along the eastern coast of Great Barrier Island to Whakatautuna Point, the commencing point.

Thirdly, the waters of Hauraki Gulf within the following limits: From a position in latitude 36° 24′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 46′ 00″ E. in a 090° direction to the 100 fathom line in a position in latitude 36° 24′ 00″ S., longitude 175° 59′ 00″ E. (approximately); thence along the 100 fathom line to a position in latitude 36° 38′ 00″ S., longitude 176° 07′ 30″ E. (approximately); thence in a 270° direction to the meridian of 175° 46′ 00″ E.; thence in a 000° direction to the commencing point.

PURSUANT to the Shipping Control Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Naval Board of New Zealand hereby gives notification as follows :—

  1. (1) This notification may be cited as the Shipping Control (Approaches to Auckland) Notice 1945.
    (2) This notification shall take effect on the day following the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
  2. No master or person in charge of any ship to which the Shipping Control Emergency Regulations 1939 for the time being apply† shall cause or permit the ship to be in any part of the waters described in the Schedule hereto.

(2) Times of Transmission

During clear weather, between 6 a.m. and sunset, two complete transmissions of the signal group will be made every hour commencing at 00 and 30 minutes.

During all weathers, between sunset and 6 a.m., the signal group will be transmitted as in weather of poor visibility.

Radio Beacon.—Times of Transmission altered

Previous Notice: No. 16 of 1943.

Position: 074° 1·2 cables from lighthouse. Lat., 46° 10′.2 S.; long., 166° 37′.1 E. (approx.).

Alterations: The times of transmission have been altered as follows :—

During weather of poor visibility, between 6 a.m. and sunset, the signal group will be transmitted every six minutes commencing at the hour.

During clear weather, between 6 a.m. and sunset, two complete transmissions of the signal group will be made every hour commencing at 00 and 30 minutes.

During all weathers, between sunset and 6 a.m., the signal group will be transmitted as in weather of poor visibility.
