And whereas the said petition is signed by a majority of the persons in the said area of land qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for the said proposed district, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Wairarapa East Rabbit District” and declare that the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIRARAPA EAST RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situate in the Survey Districts of Tiffin, Otahoua, Rewa, Huangarua, Wainuioru, and Kaiwhata, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the southern side of the Masterton–Taueru Road where it joins the south-western boundary of Section 514, Whareama Block, Block VII, Otahoua Survey District; thence south-easterly along that boundary and the western boundary of Section 604; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the western and southern boundaries of the said Section 604 to the western boundary of Section 546; thence in an easterly direction generally by the western boundary of Section 546, the northern boundary of the land shown on Land Transfer Plan B/201, the northern and north-eastern boundaries of the land shown in Land Transfer Plan B/198, the northern boundary of the land shown on Land Transfer Plan B/205, the northern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 2303, and the northern boundary of the land shown on Land Transfer Plan B/290 to the permanent State forest as described in Gazette of 1897, page 2188; thence in a north-easterly direction by the eastern boundaries of Sections 667 and 662, Whareama Block, Block VI, Rewa Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally by the southern boundaries of Sections 648, 649, and 650, the western boundary of Section 614, the northern and north-western boundaries of Section 613, the southern boundaries of Sections 613 and 677, and the eastern boundary of Section 677, Whareama Block, and the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10442, to the East Coast Road, by the crossing of that road, and thence in a northerly direction by the eastern side of that road to the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4523; thence in an easterly direction generally by that southern boundary and the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 4523, to the Whareama River; thence by the right bank of that river to the sea-coast; thence in a southerly direction generally by the sea-coast to the Kaiwhata River; thence in a westerly direction generally by the left bank of that river to the eastern boundary of the land shown on D.P. 4281; thence by the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of the said D.P. 4281 to the right bank of the Kaiwhata River, by the crossing of that river, and thence in a northerly direction generally by the western boundary of Section 1, Block V, and the western boundary of Section 12, Block IV, Kaiwhata Survey District, the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Te Maipi 7c 3B; thence by the south-eastern boundary of Te Maipi 7c 6; thence north-westerly by the northern boundaries of Te Maipi 7c 6, 7c 5B, and 7c 5A; thence southerly by the eastern boundary of Te Maipi 7c 4; thence north-westerly by the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block I, Kaiwhata Survey District, the crossing of a road, again by the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, the crossing of the Kaiwhata River, again by Section 1, again by crossing of the Kaiwhata River, again by Section 1, and again by the crossing of the Kaiwhata River; thence southerly generally by the right bank of the Kaiwhata River to the northern boundary of Run 49, Block I, Kaiwhata, and Block IV, Wainuioru Survey Districts; thence westerly by the northern boundary of the said Run 49; thence south-westerly by the western boundaries of the said Run 49 and of Run 48, Block IV, Wainuioru Survey District, the north-western boundaries of Section 7, the western boundary of Section 248, Block VIII, and the northern boundary of Section 267, Block VII, Wainuioru Survey District, to a road, as shown on Survey Office plan numbered 17011, by the eastern side of that road to the Gladstone – East Coast Road, by the crossing of that road and by the southern side of that road to the eastern boundary of Section 271, Block VII, Wainuioru Survey District; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section 271, the southern boundary of Section 270, Block VII, the western boundary of Section 277, Block XI, Wainuioru Survey District, and the crossings of roads, the southern boundary of the said Section 277 and the crossing of a road, the western boundaries of Section 279 and 281, Subdivision 1, Block XI, Wainuioru Survey District, to a road forming the southern boundary of Subdivision 1 of Section 281, by the crossing of that road, and thence in a westerly direction by the south side of that road to the western boundary of Section 292, Block XI, Wainuioru Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally by the western boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Pahaoa River; thence in a westerly direction generally by the right bank of that river to its junction with the Wainuioru River; thence by the left bank of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 294, Block X, Wainuioru Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary to the right bank of the Wainuioru River; thence north-west generally by that right bank to the southern boundary of Section 3, Block IX, Wainuioru Survey District; thence westerly by the southern boundary of the said Section 3; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, and 10, Mahupuku Settlement; thence westerly by the northern boundaries of the said Section 10 and of Section 7, Mahupuku Settlement, to the Wangaehu Valley Road, by the crossing of that road, and by the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the Wangaehu Road, as shown on plan S.O. 16286; thence northerly by the eastern side of that road to the Wangaehu River, by that river to the western boundary of Section 12, Longbush Settlement; thence by the western boundaries of Subdivisions 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Uwhiroa Block, and the eastern boundary of Section 29, Block IV, Huangarua Survey District, to the Mangahua Stream, by that stream to the Makahakaha Stream, by that stream to the northern boundary of part Tuarawhati Block as shown on Land Transfer Plan A/2665; thence south-easterly by that boundary to the south-east boundaries of Sections 15 and 16, Tupurupuru Block, as shown on Land Transfer Plans A/2663 and D.P. 6099, to the southern side of a road intersecting Lot 2, D.P. 6009, by that road to the Masterton–Gladstone Road; thence in a northerly direction by that road to the southernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 7309; thence towards the north-west by the southern boundaries of Lots 4 and 3, D.P. 7309, to the left bank of the Ruamahanga River; thence northerly by that left bank to its junction with the Wangaehu River; thence in a north-easterly direction by that river to the south side of Moore’s Road; thence towards the west by a line being the production of the south side of Moore’s Road to the eastern side of a road through Section 7, Block I, Otahoua Survey District, and also forming the western boundary of Sections 6, 5, and 3, Block VI, Otahoua Survey District, to the southern side of the Masterton–Taueru Road; thence easterly by the southern side of that road to the south-western boundary of Section 514, Whareama Block, Block VII, Otahoua Survey District, the place of commencement.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £20,000 by the North Auckland Electric-power Board and prescribing the Conditions thereof

ORDER IN COUNCIL

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the North Auckland Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”), being desirous of raising a loan of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000), to be known as “Reticulation Loan, 1945” (hereinafter called “the said loan”), for the purpose of further reticulation of the Board’s area, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the raising of the said loan:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall not exceed twenty (20) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan or any part thereof shall be repaid by equal half-yearly redemptions of debentures of not less than five hundred pounds (£500) each, extending over the term as determined in (1) above.
(4) The payment of interest and the repayment of principal in respect of the said loan shall be made in New Zealand, and no amount payable as interest or principal shall be paid out of loan-moneys.
(5) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised.
(6) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68 of the fifteenth day of the same month, authorizing William Francis Baldwin, of Ohaeawai, Bay of Islands, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines.
