CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Land in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,

Hokitika, 28th August, 1945.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 1st October, 1945.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 3rd October, 1945, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount in reduction of weighting for improvements.

The section is situated within the Westland Mining District and is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND

Grey County.—Brunner Survey District.—Westland Mining District

SECTION 1669 and part Section 2757, Block II: Area, 376 acres. Capital value, £230; half-yearly rent, £4 12s.

Weighted with £733 for improvements, comprising five-roomed dwelling, mill-cottage, store-room, garage, dairy-shed, hay-shed, fowlhouse, piggery, and wood-shed, 200 chains fencing, 20 acres felled, stumped, and grassed, 50 acres felled and grassed, and 50 acres burnt and surface-sown. £707 5s. 8d. of this sum is payable in cash, or on such terms as may be arranged with the State Advances Corporation prior to the ballot. The balance of £25 14s. 4d. is payable in cash, or, after a minimum cash payment of £7, the balance on such terms as may be arranged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicant will be required also to pay mortgage costs, £1 17s., plus a proportion of the insurance premium.

The property is in a sawmilling district and is suitable for a worker’s home. It fronts the Kotuku–Bell Hill Road, opposite the Kotuku Post-office, a quarter of a mile from Kotuku School, one mile from Kotuku Railway-station, eighteen miles from Golden Coast Dairy Factory, and twenty-two miles from Rotomanu Sale-yards. Six to eight dairy cows could be carried. The dwelling is in fair condition, but requires repainting; other buildings are in from fair to poor order, while the fencing is mostly in poor condition.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES

EVIDENCE of the loss of certificates of title, Vol. 15, folio 141, and Vol. 98, folio 259 (Taranaki Registry), for Lots 313, 322, 323, and 324 of Block XII on Deposited Plan No. 4 (Town of Normanby), and being part of Section No. 561 of the Patea District, whereof PATRICK DUDDY, formerly of Normanby, Constable, but now of Auckland, Gentleman, is the registered proprietor, having been lodged with me together with an application for new certificates of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificates of title after fourteen days from the 30th day of August, 1945.

In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Estate of RICHARD WILSON, late of Christchurch, Retired Company Director, deceased.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand on the 8th day of August, 1945, pursuant to the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 62 of the above-mentioned Act, filed a certificate in the Supreme Court at Wellington electing to administer the above estate under Part IV of the said Act, and that the said estate will, as from the said date, be administered, realized, and distributed in accordance with the law and practice of bankruptcy.

Notice is further given that I do hereby summon all creditors of the above estate to a meeting to be held at the Public Trust Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 22nd day of August, 1945, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon.

Notice is finally given that all creditors, whether they have already submitted their claims or not, are required to prove their debts within the time and in the manner provided by the Bankruptcy Act, 1908. Proof-of-debt forms may be procured at my office.
