BOUNDARIES OF THE HILLSBOROUGH RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE

All that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Heathcote River in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 329, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as hereinbefore described; thence south-westerly to and along the said north-western boundary of that section to Scrutton’s Road; thence southerly by the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Rural Section 966; thence to and along that boundary; thence southerly along the western boundaries of the said Rural Section 966 and Rural Sections 104, 23594, and 23560. to the northern boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton (New Zealand Gazette, 1938, pages 2831–32); thence south-westerly generally along that boundary and the summit of the Port Hills to the road forming the eastern boundary of Rural Section 11549; thence north-westerly generally along the western side of the road forming the eastern boundary of Rural Sections 11549, 17908, 34655, and 2135 to the easternmost corner of Rural Section 2115; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Rural Section 2115 and its production across the Heathcote River to the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE

All that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the south-western side of Muritai Terrace with the south-eastern side of Major Hornbrook’s Road, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as hereinbefore described; thence proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern side of Major Hornbrook’s Road and south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rural Section 36793 (closed road); thence southerly generally to and along that boundary to and across the Summit Road, along the eastern side of Hill Top Road, and along the north-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 36956 and 24077Y (closed roads) to the intersection of that boundary with the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence generally northerly, north-westerly, southerly, and westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Also all that area bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Rural Section 1161, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch hereinbefore described; thence proceeding in a southerly direction along the eastern side of the Bridle Path Road to the southern boundary of the said Rural Section 1161; thence easterly along that boundary to its intersection with the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence northerly and westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE HEATHCOTE VALLEY RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE

All that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded towards the north generally by the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as hereinbefore described, from the north-eastern corner of the Hillsborough Riding to the north-western corner of the Mount Pleasant Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the east generally by the boundary of the said Mount Pleasant Riding, the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid, and again by the Mount Pleasant Riding and the City of Christchurch to the Borough of Lyttelton (New Zealand Gazette, 1938, pages 2831–32); thence towards the south by the boundary of that borough to the south-eastern corner of the Hillsborough Riding aforesaid; thence towards the west generally by the said Hillsborough Riding to the place of commencement.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 31st day of May, 1946, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 30th day of June, 1945, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, containing by admeasurement 500 acres, more or less, being Allotment 77, Rangitaiki Parish, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 274, folio 178.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 496 acres 1 rood 18 perches, more or less, being part Allotment 80, Rangitaiki Parish, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 208, folio 195.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 454 acres 1 rood 34·3 perches, more or less, being part Allotment 81 and part Allotment 118, Rangitaiki Parish, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 714, folio 394.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 80 acres 3 roods 3 perches, more or less, being Allotments 1A No. 1, 1A No. 2, part 1A No. 3, and part 1A No. 4, Rangitaiki Parish, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 298, folio 247.

Also all those areas containing by admeasurement 1 rood 29·3 perches and 17 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less, being respectively Allotments 116 and 117, Rangitaiki Parish, comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 639, folio 254 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 1st day of May, 1945, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 28th day of June, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing one hundred and two (102) acres three (3) roods twenty-three (23) perches, more or less, being Sections 339, 340, 341, and 342, Waipipi Parish, situated in Block XII, Awhitu Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 120, folio 240 (Auckland Registry).
