THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for bridge purposes to a reserve for recreation purposes.


SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

PART Section 1, Block III, Lower Hawea Survey District: Area, 3 acres and 28·6 perches, more or less.

Also part Section 1, Block IV, Lower Hawea Survey District: Area, 2 acres 2 roods 35 perches, more or less.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/205E, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking the Reservation over Part of a Reserve in the Town of Horopito West, Wellington Land District

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of April, 1945

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a site for a post-office over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for police purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.


SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, and being part of Section No. 9, Block II, Village of Torea. Bounded towards the south-west by Section No. 10, Block II, Village of Torea, 500 links; towards the north-west by a continuation of the road forming the north-west boundary of the last-mentioned section, 100 links; towards the north-east by a line parallel to the south-west boundary, 250 links; again towards the north-west by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, 100 links; again towards the north-east by a road parallel to the south-west boundary, 250 links; and towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5314/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Settlement Land in Auckland Land District proclaimed to be Ordinary Crown Land

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by section forty-nine of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as amended by subsection one of section ten of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1935, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare any settlement land to be, inter alia, ordinary Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is settlement land within the meaning of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and it is deemed expedient that the said land shall cease to be settlement land and become ordinary Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so conferred upon me by the aforesaid section forty-nine, amended as aforesaid, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of the gazetting hereof the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be ordinary Crown lands available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

SECTIONS 184, 186, and 187, Selwyn Settlement, Block V, Patetere North Survey District: Area, 133 acres 2 roods 3 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 11th day of April, 1945.

Open Season for the taking or killing of Opossums in certain Acclimatization Districts

At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of April, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare that opossums may be taken or killed within the acclimatization districts specified in the Schedule hereto, except in any sanctuary other than a scenic reserve, subject in all cases to the general regulations made by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and to the special conditions specified in connection with each district.


SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT

(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 4 of 23rd January, 1930, at page 159.)

  1. Season: Noon on 1st July to noon on 1st October, 1945 (both days inclusive).

  2. License fee: £2.

  3. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses: Chief Postmaster, Auckland; Postmaster, Paeroa.


GREY DISTRICT ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT

(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17 of 12th March, 1925, at page 750.)

  1. Season: Noon on 1st June to noon on 1st September, 1945 (inclusive).

  2. License fee: £2.

  3. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses: Chief Postmaster, Greymouth; Postmasters, Blackball, Brunnerton, Moana, Nelson Creek, Ngahere, Runanga, Stillwater, and Totara Flat.


HAWERA ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT

(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17 of 12th March, 1925, at page 750.)

  1. Season: Noon on 15th May to noon on 15th October, 1945 (inclusive).

  2. License fee: £2.

  3. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses: Postmasters, Patea, Hawera, Normanby, and Eltham.


ROTORUA ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT

(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 46 of 20th June, 1929, at page 1721.)

  1. Season: Noon on 1st June to noon on 31st October, 1945 (inclusive).

  2. License fee: £2.

  3. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses: Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington (or any person authorized by such Under-Secretary in that behalf).
