at page 1847.)

  1. Season: Noon on 1st July to noon on 1st October, 1945
    (inclusive).
  2. License fee: £2
  3. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses: Chief Post-
    masters, Wellington and Palmerston North; Postmasters, Petone,
    Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Featherston, Greytown, Masterton, Carter-
    ton, Martinborough, Eketahuna, Pahiatua, Paekakariki, Waikanae,
    Paraparaumu, Otaki, Levin, Shannon, Bulls, Marton, Turakina,
    Hunterville, Mangaweka, and Taihape.

Appointing Five Non-elective Members of the Poverty Bay
Catchment Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section
forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act,
1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—

Edward Walpole McEnnis, Esquire, B.E., Acting District
Engineer, Public Works Department, Gisborne,
Frederick James Perham, Esquire, Acting Conservator of
Forests, State Forest Service, Rotorua,
Vernon Patrick Boot, Esquire, Dip. in Agr., Fields Instructor,
Agriculture Department, Gisborne,
John Samuel Strawbridge, Esquire, Chief Surveyor, Lands
and Survey Department, Gisborne, and
Ernest Alexander Madden, Esquire, H.D.A., Assistant Director,
Grasslands Division, Scientific and Industrial Research
Department, Palmerston North,

to be non-elective members of the Poverty Bay Catchment Board
for a term commencing on the eleventh day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and expiring on the thirty-
first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 11th day of April, 1945.

Lands permanently reserved in the North Auckland, Auckland,
Wellington, and Nelson Land Districts

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of
the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General
may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral license,
any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the
said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said
three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one
month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the
Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently
reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be
published in the Gazette:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were,
by the Warrant dated the twenty-second day of January, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and published in the Gazette
of the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
five, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for
the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the
end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be
temporarily reserved:

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do
hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule
hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of
the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently
reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily
reserved as aforesaid.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
Section 110, Block IV, Ahipara Survey District: Area, 1 rood,
more or less. (S.O. plan 23863.) (Native-school site, Ahipara.)
Sections 32 and 34, Block XVI, Kawakawa Survey District:
Area, 8 acres 3 roods 32 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Allotment 674, Town of Newcastle: Area, 1 rood 32·01 perches,
more or less. (Recreation.)

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area in the Featherston County, containing by
admeasurement 17 acres, more or less, being Lot 43 on D.P. 12843,
being portion of Section 9 and closed road, Block IX, Haurangi
Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked L. and S. 6/9/67B, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red. (Recreation.)

NELSON LAND DISTRICT

Sections 20, 32, and 39, Block II, Steeples Survey District:
Area, 47 acres and 9 perches, more or less.
Also Sections 40 and 41, Block II, Steeples Survey District:
Area, 7 acres and 34 perches, more or less. (Aerodrome.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 15th day of April, 1945.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Pukekohe Borough
Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby
vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule
hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Pukekohe
Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained,
that is to say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby
    vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation
    is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on
    the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts
    and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report
    and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the
    administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of
    the year.
  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance
    with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made
    thereunder.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Borough of Pukekohe, containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres 3 roods 2·6 perches, more or less, situated in
Block XV, Drury Survey District, being Lots 20 to 27 (inclusive)
on plan No. 16013, deposited in the office of the District Land
Registrar at Auckland, being part of Allotment 12, Pukekohe Parish,
and being the whole of the land comprised in Certificate of Title,
Volume 707, folio 207, Auckland Registry. As the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/686A, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 15th day of April, 1945.

to be an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs
Act, 1908.
