Special Order made by the Ashburton County Council declaring that Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to that Council

THE following special order made by the Ashburton County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Ashburton County Council resolves, by way of Special Order, that as from 1st April, 1945, sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920 (as to the levy of general rates separately in ridings and as to the apportionment of income, &c.), shall not apply to the Ashburton County Council.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 15th March, 1945.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH
ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the easternmost corner of Lot 7 on plan deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 2150, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743-4); thence proceeding north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of the said Lot 7 and Lots 8 and 9 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2150; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned lot to the north-eastern side of Wairarapa Road; thence north-westerly along the said north-eastern side of that road to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 12 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2150; thence north-easterly along the said south-eastern boundary of that lot, and north-westerly along its north-eastern boundary and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 13 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2150 to a point on the south-eastern boundary of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 477, folio 249 (Canterbury Registry); thence south-westerly, north-westerly, north-easterly, and again north-westerly along the south-eastern, south-western, north-western, and south-western boundaries of the said land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 477, folio 249, to the south-eastern side of Aorangi Road; thence north-easterly along the said south-eastern side of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 29 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2444; thence south-easterly along the said north-eastern boundary of that lot to its easternmost corner, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence south-westerly, south-easterly, and again south-westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the north-eastern side of Bryndwr Road with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 5 on plan deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 11051; thence proceeding in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 5 aforesaid and Lots 2 and 3 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 11051 to the north-western corner of Reserve 4340, being a point on the existing boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1944, page 1299); thence south-easterly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Lot 46 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2221 to a point in line with the north-western end of Garreg Road; thence south-westerly along the said north-western end of that road, and the north-western boundaries of Lots 86 and 96 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 2221, to the north-eastern side of Bryndwr Road aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the said north-eastern side of that road to the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Borough of Kaitaia
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 21st March, 1945.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted as the Borough of Kaitaia.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such borough which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF KAITAIA
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situate in Awanui Parish, containing by admeasurement 1,123 acres, more or less. Date of Election of Insurance Members of the Stratford Fire Board
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 21st March, 1945.
PURSUANT to section 24 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, I, William Edward Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 12th April, 1945, to be the day for the holding of an election of two members of the Stratford Fire Board by fire-insurance companies which for the time being are carrying on business within the Stratford Fire District.
