the following resolution passed by the Nelson City Council on the
eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
five, viz. :—
“ That the Nelson City Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the City of Nelson, by resolution
declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-
eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the
south-eastern side of the portion of Kawai Street adjoining
Section 972, City of Nelson, as shown on the plan annexed
to this resolution in the Council’s minute-book ” ;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall
at any time be erected on the land fronting the south-eastern side
of the portion of Kawai Street (described in the Schedule hereto)
within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the
said portion of street.

SCHEDULE
The south-eastern side of all that portion of street in the Nelson
Land District, City of Nelson, known as Kawai Street, fronting
Section 972, City of Nelson. As the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 121002, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

the quorum at sittings of the committee shall be two :—

Stratford Fire District constituted

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
March, 1945
Present :
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS by section three of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926
(hereinafter termed “ the said Act ”), it is provided that the
Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on the application of
any Borough Council, declare the district within the jurisdiction of
such Borough Council to be a fire district under the said Act :
And whereas an application has been made by the Stratford
Borough Council, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act,
and it appears expedient to grant the said application :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare the Borough of
Stratford to be a fire district under the said Act, as on and from the
fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five.

Native land.
