Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the City of Wellington,
Wellington Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of
March, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms
portion of a reserve duly set apart for a vice-regal
residence:

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation
over such land shall be changed to a reserve for a children’s
playground:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a)
of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the
reservation over the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
changed from a reserve for a vice-regal residence to a reserve for
a children’s play-ground.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre 0 roods 34·78 perches, more or less, being part of the
Town Belt adjoining the Town of Wellington, bounded, commencing
at the southernmost corner of Section 758, Town of Wellington,
in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 758,
757, and 756, Town of Wellington, and the abutment of Drummond
Street, to a point distant 11·06 links from the easternmost corner
of Section 756 aforesaid; thence along right lines bearing 141°
15′ 20″ distance 11·55 links; bearing 187° 48′ 40″ distance 136·91
links; bearing 192° 59′ 10″ distance 170·33 links; bearing 138°
01′ distance 181·8 links; bearing 173° 26′ 40″ distance 113·78 links;
bearing 146° 33′ 50″ distance 197·67 links; bearing 191° 56′ 20″
distance 129·09 links; bearing 176° 27′ distance 87·19 links; bearing
281° 00′ distance 24·60 links; bearing 283° 16′ 40″ distance 129·9
links; bearing 13° 16′ 40″ distance 145·46 links; along an arc of
radius 18·18 links turning in a north-westerly direction for 28·56
links; along a right line bearing 283° 16′ 40″ distance 145·46 links;
along an arc of radius 18·18 links turning in a south-westerly direction
for 28·56 links; and along right lines bearing 193° 16′ 40″ distance
145·46 links; bearing 283° 16′ 40″ distance 41·65 links; and bearing
282° 43′ distance 3·8 links to the point of commencement. As the
same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and
S. 6/1/167K, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking the Reservation over a Reserve in Hunua Survey District,
Wellington Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of
March, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a resting-
place for travelling stock over the land described in the Schedule
hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in
the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land
Act, 1924.

Lot 1 of Section 26, Block III, Hunua Survey District: Area,
12 acres 3 roods, more or less.

Westland Land District

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for museum
purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth
hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is
Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Revoking the Reservation over a Reserve in the Borough of Arrowtown,
Otago Land District

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 28th day of
February, 1945

Present:

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS a notice of intention to issue an Order in Council
declaring that the reservation for the purposes of pleasure-
grounds and recreation and for providing a bowling-green and other
conveniences, and generally to provide all the usual privileges,
advantages, conveniences, and accommodation of a bowling-club
over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be revoked
was published in the Gazette of the twenty-second day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-four:

And whereas such notice of intention was duly laid before both
Houses of Parliament in accordance with the provisions of subsection
two of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928:

And whereas the Legislative Council and the House of Repre-
sentatives, by resolutions dated respectively the eighth and the
thirteenth days of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
four, approved the proposed revocation as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred by subsection one (b) of section seven of
the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for the
purposes of pleasure-grounds and recreation and for providing a
bowling-green and other conveniences, and generally to provide all
the usual privileges, advantages, conveniences, and accommodation
of a bowling-club over the land described in the Schedule hereto,
and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the body
corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough
of Arrowtown, may be disposed of by the said body corporate by
way of sale by public auction or private contract at such price and
on such terms and conditions as the said body corporate shall deter-
mine, but so that the proceeds of any such sale shall be used and
applied in or towards the purchase of other land for recreation
purposes.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Ohau Hall Society
(Incorporated)

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been
duly set apart as a reserve for a site for a public hall:

And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve
should be vested in the Ohau Hall Society (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of
the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth
hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Ohau Hall Society
(Incorporated).
