Dec. 7] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE 1493 The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.βNotice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Service-men WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies : And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged servicemen ; And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 25th day of October, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land : And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship : Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 19th day of January, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King. SCHEDULE CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT ALL those parcels of land situated in Block VIII, Grey Survey District, containing a total of four hundred and fifteen (415) acres two (2) roods and twenty-four (24) perches, more or less, being Rural Sections 6765, 2965, 6686, 6107x, part Rural Section 6107, and Lot 10, part Reserve 2640, being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 387, folio 236, Vol. 398, folio 202 (limited as to parcels), Vol. 250, folio 238, and Vol. 111, folio 236 (Canterbury Registry). Frost, 129 Waghorn Street, Napier, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of the fishing-vessel "Kotuku," NR. 11, so as to permit him to operate his fishing-vessel "Marlborough." CHN. 38, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Napier. W. H. B. Smith and V. C. W. H. Smith, Port Chalmers, has applied for a variation of his existing license so as to permit him to use trawl-nets and crayfish-pots in addition to his present methods of fishing. Fish Retailing F. J. Gallacher, 62 Marston Road, Timaru, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell wet fish from premises situated in King Street, Timaru, and also to hawk fish for sale in Timaru Borough, St. Andrews, Pareora, Pleasant Point, Washdyke, Levels, and Tycho. Pharmacy Industry H. W. Wilson, 27 Oban Crescent, Wadestown, Wellington, has applied for permission to open a new pharmacy at Wadestown Road Tram Terminus. Manufacture for Sale of Footwear W. Monks, Ltd., 10 Ruskin Street, Parnell, Auckland, has applied for permission to operate a machine-room at Whangarei. Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 21st December, 1944, to G.
