The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 26th day of October, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 14th day of December, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing one hundred and twenty (120) acres, more or less, being Section 1, Block I, Huiroa Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 22, folio 271 (Taranaki Registry).

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District containing ninety-seven (97) acres and twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland under No. 7474, being portion of Allotment 149, Parish of Matata, and being the whole of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 319, folio 10 (Auckland Registry).

ALL those pieces or parcels of land containing three hundred and twenty-two (322) acres and twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Lot Four (4) on Deposited Plan No. 29278, being Allotment 87, the northern portion of Allotment 83, parts of the eastern and western portions of Allotment 82, part of the southern portion of Allotment 83, part Allotment 84, parts of the northern and southern portions of Allotment 86, and part of the western portion of Allotment 88, Omaru Parish, and being the residue of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 733, folio 52 (Auckland Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing seventy-two (72) acres one (1) rood and thirty-six (36) perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland under No. 11568, being part Okauia No. 1 Block, situated in Tapapa Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 300, folio 240 (Auckland Registry).

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of less Width than 66 ft.
WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Nae Nae Extension No. 7 affecting part of Section No. 21, Lowry Bay District, situated in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District, Wellington Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Crawford Street shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft.:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Crawford Street of a width of not less than 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.
Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 22nd day of November, 1944.
