Revocation of Certificate under the Licensing Act Emergency
Regulations 1940


I DO hereby revoke, as from the 6th day of December, 1944, the
certificate issued under my hand dated the 10th day of July,
1942, and published in the Gazette of the 16th day of the same month,
certifying that the licensed premises known as the Grand Hotel,
situate at Princes Street, Auckland, were being used for war
purposes by the Government of New Zealand, and that the publican’s
license in force in respect of such premises was suspended as from
the 15th day of June, 1942.

Dated at Wellington, this 22nd day of November, 1944.

SPECIAL ORDER.—ABOLITION OF RIDING ACCOUNTS

Notice of Special Order

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Bay of Islands
County Council, held on Wednesday, the 6th day of September,
1944, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for
confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on
Thursday, 5th day of October, 1944, at 10 a.m., at the Council
Chambers, Kawakawa.

Resolution

“ That the Bay of Islands County Council do declare, by way
of special order, that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920,
shall not apply to the Council. That such a special order shall take
effect at the close of the present financial year on 31st March, 1945.
“ Dated at Kawakawa, this 6th day of September, 1944.

I hereby certify that the above-mentioned special order was
passed at a special meeting of the Bay of Islands County Council
on Wednesday, 6th September, 1944, and confirmed at an ordinary
meeting held on Thursday, 5th October, 1944.

I further certify that the above is a true and correct extract
from the minute-book of the Bay of Islands County Council.

I further certify that such special order was duly advertised in
the Northern Advocate (a newspaper circulating throughout the
county) on 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th September, 1944.

Notice of Intention to take Leasehold Estate or Interest in Land in the
Borough of Taumarunui for Post and Telegraph Purposes


NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the leasehold estate or
interest in the land described in the Schedule hereto, held from His
Majesty the King by Eric Vivian, of Auckland, Medical Practitioner,
under Deferred Payment License 1958, and registered in the Land
Registry Office at Auckland, Volume 664, folio 152, for Post and
Telegraph purposes : And notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land in respect of which the leasehold estate or interest
is so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Taumarunui
and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the
taking of the said leasehold estate or interest should, if they have any
well-grounded objections to the taking of such leasehold estate or
interest, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister
of Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land in respect of which the
leasehold estate or interest is required to be taken : 1 rood.
Being Allotment 6, Block VII, Taumarunui Native Township.

the Schedule hereto for Post and Telegraph purposes : And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken
is deposited in the post-office at Taumarunui and is there open for
inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington.

open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
