Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Otago Land
District for other Land

C. L. N. NEWALL, Governor-General
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land
Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public
interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is
subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for
the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay
or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is
expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule
hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule
hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule
has agreed to such exchange.
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and
authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-
simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto
in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second
Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Otago Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 31 per-
ches, more or less, being Section 29, Block IV, Lower Hawea Survey
District. Bounded towards the south, east, and south by part
Section 25, 129 links, 1395 links, and 259.4 links respectively;
towards the west by Section 28, 1293.2 links; towards the north-
west by a public road, 147.9 links and 178.8 links; and towards
the north-east by said public road, 159.5 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1/205D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
Otago Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood, more
or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 5895, Block IV, Lower Hawea Survey
District. Bounded towards the east and south by part of Section 25,
1628 links and 202.3 links respectively; towards the west by a
public road, 567.3 links; and towards the north-west by a closed
road, 455.1 links and 618.6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and
18 perches, more or less, being Lot 2, D.P. 5895, Block IV, Lower
Hawea Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east by
part Section 25, 204.9 links and 971.3 links respectively; and towards
the south-west and west by a public road, 835.3 links, 60.15 links,
and 105.85 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
1/205D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 9th day of November, 1944.

Parks Act, 1928, been pleased to make the following appointments:-

to be members of the Ongarue Domain Board in place of James
Caird and Alfred Charles Whiting, left the district.
Cuthbert Fraser Holt and
Alexander McKenzie
to be members of the Piha Beach Domain Board in place of Ira
Nelson Elwood and Charles Isaac Nathan, resigned.
William Henry Lambert
to be a member of the Hukutaia Domain Board in place of Joseph
Cecil Booth, resigned.

Additional Members of Domain Board appointed

Wellington, 9th November, 1944.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in
pursuance of section 46 of the Public Reserves, Domains,
and National Parks Act, 1928, to increase the total number of
members of the Waimatenui Domain Board from five to seven and
to appoint
Matthew Carr and Charles McAllister
as the additional members thereby rendered necessary.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed
THOMAS ALLAN RANK, Esquire, of 129 William Street,
Melbourne, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, has
this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers,
G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand in the State of Victoria under the
47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of adminis-
tering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in
the said section mentioned.
