Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Wellington for Housing Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes : And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Karori and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 1-1 perches.
Being part Lot 1, D.P. 9310, and being part Section 39, Karori District.
Situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington). (S.O. 21191.)

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.- Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 13th day of October, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farringdon Skinner, Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 10th day of November, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
All that parcel of land situated in Block IV, Kairanga Survey District, containing one hundred and forty-nine (149) acres one (1) rood and thirty-one (31) perches, more or less, being Lot Twenty (20) Deposited Plan No. 238, being part of Subdivision O, Manchester Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 56, folio 72 (Wellington Registry).

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 11th day of December, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

ALL those pieces or parcels of land in the North Auckland Land District containing a total of five hundred and fifty-eight (558) acres three (3) roods and sixteen (16) perches, more or less, being Allotments 216, 217, 218, N. Pn. 213, and parts N.E. Pn. 214; S. Pn. 236; part N. Pn. 236; and part N. Pn. 237; N. Pn. 189 and S. Pn. 213; S.W. Pn. 214; S.W. Pn. 237; 293, 294, and 295, parts 215; all of Parish of Matakohe, and being all the lands comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 765, folio 136, Vol. 765, folio 137, Vol. 765, folio 135, all limited as to parcels ; Vol. 92, folio 145, Vol. 53, folio 61, Vol. 702, folio 306, and the residue of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 55, folio 147 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks X and XI, Otahoua Survey District, containing eight hundred and seventy-eight (878) acres three (3) roods and three (3) perches, more or less, being part of Patukawa No. 1, part of Ngaipu Nos. 1 and 2, part of Maungaraki No. 2, part of Ngutukoko No. 3, and part of Te Kahurangi Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 178, folio 265 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block XI, Otahoua Survey District, containing one hundred and sixty-eight (168) acres and one (1) rood, more or less, being Subdivision One (1), Ngutukoko Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 105, folio 110 (Wellington Registry).
