SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE
AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH

ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the
City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743-4),
the said point being at the northernmost corner of Lot 9 on plan
deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christ-
church as No. 2698; thence proceeding in a northerly direction by a
right line across Page’s Road to a point on its north-western side in
line with the eastern boundary of the said Lot 9 on plan deposited
as aforesaid as No. 2698; thence north-easterly along the north-
western side of the said Page’s Road to the southernmost corner of
R.S. 6754, Block XII, Christchurch Survey District; thence north-
westerly along the south-western boundary of that rural section
to Wainoni Road; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern
side of that road to its intersection with the boundary of the City
of Christchurch aforesaid; thence south-westerly, south-easterly,
southerly, westerly, again southerly, and north-easterly generally
along that boundary to the point of commencement.

The Hastings Fruit and Vegetable Canning Employees’ Labour
Legislation Suspension Order 1944

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Hastings Fruit and Vegetable
    Canning Employees’ Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1944.

  2. This Order applies to female workers employed by J. Wattie
    Canneries, Limited, Hastings, on work coming within the scope of
    the Taranaki and Wellington Grocers Sundries (Canning) Employees’
    award dated 5th day of July, 1944, and recorded in 44 Book of
    Awards 524.

  3. The provisions of all Acts and all regulations and orders
    thereunder, and of all awards and industrial agreements under the
    Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and of all other
    voluntary agreements affecting conditions of employment, are hereby
    suspended in so far as they operate to prevent the employment of
    the workers referred to in clause 2 hereof on the basis of three shifts
    in every twenty-four hours, or on any Saturday or Sunday or on
    overtime work for not more than four hours per day, but such
    suspension shall be subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter
    set forth.

  4. When shifts are being worked each worker shall receive in
    addition to the wages prescribed by the award hereinbefore mentioned
    the sum of 3s. per shift for each shift worked.

  5. Workers employed on Saturdays or Sundays shall be paid
    remuneration at the rate of time and a half.

  6. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date
    hereof.

  7. The Hastings Fruit and Vegetable Canning Employees’
    Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1943 is revoked.

Revoking a Warrant excluding Portion of a Street from the Speed
Limitation imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant dated
the 21st day of December, 1936, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette
No. 92 of the 22nd day of December, 1936, at page 2511,
in so far as it applies to the street described in the Schedule hereto.

SITUATED within Taumarunui Borough—

Te Kuiti-Bulls via Taumarunui Main Highway No. 23 (all
that portion from its junction with Tuku Street to the
railway bridge at the eastern boundary of Taumarunui
Borough).

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and
declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the
Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving
of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter
mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the
purpose of the business of the respective employer described in
Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while
he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor
for any other purpose.

Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare
that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of
certain Grades

Office of the Minister of Marketing,
Wellington, 13th October, 1944.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regula-
tions 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel
to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to
the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices of Preferred Commercial and Commercial Grades
are fixed on a basic rate of 4s. 8d. loose bushel.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive) : 1st October to 31st
October, 1944 :—

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Service-
man

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to
the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of
the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application
relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a
discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition
of the land, did on the 19th day of September, 1944, make an order
determining the basic value of the land :

And whereas an appeal from the said Order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act :

And whereas the said appeal was subsequently withdrawn :
