THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the leasehold interest in the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 1st day of November, 1944, as the date on which the leasehold interest in the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing seventy-four (74) acres one (1) rood and twenty-eight (28) perches, more or less, being Section Nine S (9s), Tahaia Settlement, Block VIII, Orahiri Survey District, held under Renewable Lease No. 1653, and entered in Vol. 432, folio 241 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 27th day of September, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 20th day of November, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing three hundred and eighty-nine (389) acres two (2) roods and thirty-four and nine-tenths (34·9) perches, more or less, situated in Block XIII, Tauhoa Survey District, and Block II, Kaipara Survey District, being portion of the block called Araparera No. 6B, part of the said land being more particularly shown on Deposited Plan No. 15881, and being the balance of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 359, folio 278 (Auckland Registry).

Notice under Section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Poolburn portion of the Otago Central Electric-power District, taken on 2nd August, 1944, on the proposal of the Board to borrow the sum of seventeen thousand five hundred pounds (£17,500), for the erection of a transmission-line to and the reticulation of the Poolburn District, the result of the voting was as follows:—
