the Shipping Safety (Whangaroa Harbour) Order 1942
PURSUANT to the Shipping Safety Emergency Regulations
1940,* the Minister of Defence doth hereby revoke the
Shipping Safety (Bay of Islands) Order 1942† and the Shipping
Safety (Whangaroa Harbour) Order 1942‡.

The Sales of Pork Restriction Order 1943, Amendment No. 5
PURSUANT to the Foodstuffs Emergency Regulations 1939,*
the Food Controller hereby orders and directs as follows :—

This order may be cited as the Sales of Pork Restriction
Order 1943, Amendment No. 5, and shall be read together with and
deemed part of the Sales of Pork Restriction Order 1943† (herein-
after referred to as the principal Order). -
Clause 3 of the principal Order is hereby amended by omitting
the words “ 30th day of September, 1944 ”, and substituting the
words “ 31st day of March, 1945 ”. -
The Sales of Pork Restriction Order 1943, Amendment
No. 4‡, is hereby revoked.

Permission to use “Left-hand Drive” Motor-vehicles
PURSUANT to clause (2) of Regulation 10 of the Traffic
Regulations 1936, the following vehicles are exempted for the
period during which they are licensed under the Motor-vehicles
Act, 1924, from the provisions of clause (1) of the said regulation,
which prohibits the operation of any motor-vehicle having the
steering column to the left of the longitudinal centre-line of the body
of the vehicle :—
Any motor-vehicle purchased from the Crown other than a
motor-cycle.

NOTES
That the foregoing exemption avails only so long as the motor-
vehicle is fitted with a mechanical signalling apparatus approved
by the Minister.
Also that the foregoing exemption does not excuse the necessity
of having the motor-vehicle equipped with a mirror so located as to
reflect to the driver a view of the roadway to the rear sufficient for
driving requirements.
Excluding Land from the Mahoenui Development Scheme
PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby
revokes, so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto,
a certain notice dated the 28th day of January, 1931, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 9 of the 5th day of February of the
same year at page 229, whereby the provisions of subsection (3)
of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land
Claims Adjustment Act, 1929 (now Part I of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1936), were applied to, inter alia, the said land
described in the Schedule hereto, and such land is hereby excluded
from the Mahoenui Development Scheme.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land in the Waikato-Maniapoto Native Land Court
District, containing 38 acres 2 roods, more or less, called or known
as Otiao 3B, and situate in the Awakino East Survey District.
