The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land
I, CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands,
acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby give notice of my intention
to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II
of the said Act.
I specify the 1st day of February, 1945, as the date on which
possession of the lands is required, and the 31st day of October,
1944, as the date on or before which objection may be made under
section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing two thousand five hundred and
ninety-three (2,593) acres, more or less, being Section One (1), Block
XIII, Ruawahia Survey District, and originally part of Rerewhakaitu
No. 1B No. 1 Block, being the land contained in certificate of title,
Vol. 713, folio 22 (Auckland Registry).
As witness my hand, this 25th day of September, 1944.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.
WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is
inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon
the plan of Town of Korau Extension No. 22, affecting part of
Section No. 70, Hutt District, situated in Block X, Belmont Survey
District, Wellington Land District, is intended to be used wholly
for residential purposes, that Milton and Kennedy Roads shown
thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him
by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every
other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth
hereby authorize the laying-off of Milton and Kennedy Roads of a
width of not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be
lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building
at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.
Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 21st day
of September, 1944.

The Taihape Milk Delivery Notice 1943, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,*
the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :—
- This notice may be cited as the Taihape Milk Delivery
Notice 1943, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with
and deemed part of the Taihape Milk Delivery Notice 1943† (here-
inafter referred to as “the principal scheme”). - Clause 7 of the principal scheme is hereby amended by
revoking the words “E. J. Bowater, Taihape,” and substituting
the words “A. Gregory, Taihape.”

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regula-
tions 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and
declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the
Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving
of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter
mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the
purpose of the business of the respective employer described in
Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while
he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor
for any other purpose.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare
that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-
drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of the
types of motor-vehicle described in Column 3 of the Schedule
hereunder, shall not apply respectively to the persons hereinafter
mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regu-
lations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the said Schedule
may authorize him to drive the respective type of vehicle described
in Column 3 of the said Schedule for the purpose of the business
of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule,
but shall not authorize him to drive such a vehicle for any other
purpose.

Fixing the Rates of the Levy on all Wool produced in New Zealand.—

PURSUANT to the powers vested in him by section 10 (2) of
the Wool Industry Promotion Act, 1936, the Minister of
Agriculture doth hereby fix the rates following, that is to say,—
(a) For each bale, 6d. ;
(b) For each fadge, 3d. ; and
(c) For each bag or sack, 1d. ;
to be the rates of the levy to be charged on all wool produced in
New Zealand which at any time during the season commencing on
the 1st day of October, 1944, is exported from New Zealand or is
delivered to a wool-manufacturer for use in New Zealand.

Council on the 5th day of September, 1944, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1928, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves
and declares, by way of special order, that the plants mentioned
in the Schedule (being plants mentioned in the Second Schedule
to the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-
General in Council) are noxious weeds within the Borough of
Whangarei.
