Government Railways Appeal Board.—Appointment of Member

Wellington, 18th September, 1944.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 9 of the Government Railways Amendment Act, 1927, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Railways, do hereby appoint as a member of the Government Railways Appeal Board Frank Clifford Wilson, a member of the Railways Department at Wanganui, to hold office for a term of one year from and including the 11th day of September, 1944.

Producers’ Representatives on New Zealand Meat-producers Board appointed.—(Notice No. Ag. 4137)

to be members of and representatives of the producers of meat for export on the New Zealand Meat-producers Board established under the said Act.

to be Crier at Dunedin of the Supreme Court of New Zealand for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, on and from the 1st day of September, 1944.

James Alexander Fyfe

to be Registrar at Westport of the Supreme Court of New Zealand and Sheriff for the District of Westland North for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Westport for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, Clerk of the Warden’s Court, Receiver of Gold Revenue, and Mining Registrar at Westport for the Karamea Mining District constituted under the Mining Act, 1926, Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the District of Buller for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, and Registrar and Marshal at Westport of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in respect of its jurisdiction as a Colonial Court of Admiralty under the Colonial Courts of Admiralty Act, 1890, on and from the 8th day of September, 1944.

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Levin for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, on and from the 3rd day of September, 1944.

Requisitioning of Motor-spirit

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 1,* the Minister of Supply and Munitions hereby requisitions the motor-spirit, and the four-gallon tin in which it is contained, at present in the possession of the Postmaster at Ranfurly, in connection with the recent prosecution at the Magistrates’ Court, Naseby, of Leslie Eckhoff and John Weatherall, and directs that the motor-spirit be used in the motor-vehicles controlled by the Police Department.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 20th September, 1944.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH AND EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE

ALL that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the southern boundary of Lot 3, on plan deposited in the Canterbury District Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 10297, with the western side of Albert Terrace, the said point being on the boundary of the City of Christchurch (New Zealand Gazette, 1942, pages 2743–4); thence proceeding in a southerly direction along the western side of Albert Terrace aforesaid to the southern boundary of Lot 9 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 10297; thence westerly along the said southern boundary of that lot to the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid; thence northerly and easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
