THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Dominion, doth hereby order and determine that the respective duties leviable under the said Acts by way of land-tax and income-tax shall be paid on the days and dates set forth hereunder :—

Land-tax under section two of the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1944: In one sum on Friday, the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four.

Income-tax under section three of the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1944: In one sum on Wednesday, the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five.

And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place where the said duties of land-tax and income-tax shall be payable shall be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Wellington, and that notice to the aforegoing effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accordingly.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE

EVIDENCE having been lodged with me of the loss of the outstanding duplicate of Mortgage No. 205611, in the name of PROVIDENT FINANCE COMPANY, LIMITED, affecting 25·88 perches, more or less, being part Section 38, Hutt District, and being also Lot 47 on Deposited Plan No. 9231, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 410, folio 109 (Wellington Registry), and application having been made to me for a provisional mortgage in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such provisional mortgage after fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.

PRIVATE ESTATE BILL

A Bill intituled “The Marianne Caughey Preston Estate Act, 1944.”

NOTICE is hereby given that Reginald Caughey Seymour Smith, of Auckland, in New Zealand, Shop-assistant, intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand during the present session for the passing of a Private Bill, the short title of which is as above, to effect the following objects and purposes—namely, to vary the terms of certain trusts created by the will of the late Marianne Caughey Preston, of Auckland, Married Woman, by granting out of the residue of the said estate an increased provision in favour of the said Reginald Caughey Seymour Smith.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will, on or before the 14th day of September, 1944, be deposited at the office of Examiner of Standing Orders, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, and with the offices of Messieurs Jacka and McElroy, Solicitors, Yorkshire House, Shortland Street, Auckland, where the said copies may be inspected and obtained.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928

THE Waikato County Council proposes to stop the following portions of roads under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928 :—

  1. The portion of road containing 2·6 perches (more or less), adjoining Allotment No. 348E, Parish of Taupiri, shown on Survey Office plan 32338, coloured green.

  2. The portion of road containing 3 roods 11·6 perches (more or less), adjoining Allotment No. 348E, Parish of Taupiri, shown on Survey Office plan 32338, coloured green.

A plan of the portions of roads proposed to be stopped lies open to public inspection at the office of the Huntly Borough Council during forty days from the date hereof.

All persons objecting to the proposals must lodge their objections in writing at the office of the Waikato County Council on or before the 16th day of October, 1944.
