Price Order No. 278 (Amending Price Orders relating to Knitted Wear manufactured by the Manawatu Knitting Mills, Ltd.)
Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 278, and shall come into force on the 18th day of September, 1944.

Price Order No. 55† is hereby amended as follows:—
(a) By substituting the price 2s. 11d. for the price 2s. 9d. in Item No. 3301 (under the heading “Knitted Half Hose”);
(b) By deleting Item No. 316 (under the heading “Men’s Underwear”).

Price Order No. 249‡ is hereby amended by adding under the heading “Men’s Underwear” the following item:—

Price Order No. 279 (Boys’ and Men’s Wear manufactured by Ross and Glendining, Ltd.)
Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:—
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 279, and shall come into force on the 25th day of September, 1944.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies with respect to all goods manufactured by Ross and Glendining, Ltd., of a kind described in the Schedule hereto.
FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF GOODS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
- The maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any goods to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price set out in the Schedule hereto.

The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1944.—Land-tax payable
In accordance with Order in Council dated 13th September, 1944, issued under the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1944, I hereby notify that the land-tax leviable under that Act is payable at my office in one sum on Friday, 29th September, 1944, and that additional tax accrues if not paid by 20th October, 1944. Liability is not suspended by any objection, and tax must be paid by the prescribed date to avoid additional percentage; any overpayment will be refunded.
Demands will be issued on or about 22nd September, 1944, and must be presented with all payments. Taxpayers who do not receive an expected demand should notify me.
