The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
——
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 20th day of July, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas an appeal from the said Order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the said appeal was subsequently withdrawn:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, I, Benjamin Roberts, for the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 25th day of August, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing forty-nine (49) acres three (3) roods and thirty-seven and two-tenths (37·2) perches, more or less, being part of Horowhenua 14, and being also Lots Eight (8) and Nine (9) on Deposited Plan No. 2463, Block V, Waiopehu Survey District, and being all of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 238, folio 191 (Wellington Registry).
As witness my hand, this 23rd day of August, 1944.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing together one thousand five hundred and thirty-six (1,536) acres two (2) roods twenty (20) perches, more or less, being parts of Sections Four (4), Seventy-three (73), Seventy-four (74), Block III, Sections Seven (7), Twelve (12), parts of Sections Six (6), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11), Block IV, Sections One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Nine (9), Block XI, parts of Sections One (1), Three (3), One Thousand Two Hundred and Twelve R (1212R), Block XII, and Section One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirteen R (1213R), Blocks IV and XII, Hillend Survey District, and being all of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 242, folio 289 (Otago Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing seventy-eight (78) acres, more or less, being Lot Six (6) on Deposited Plan No. 15740, portion of Allotment Sixty (60) of the Parish of Karaka, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title Vol. 616, folio 77 (Auckland Registry).

ALL those parcels of land containing two hundred and fifty-two (252) acres three (3) roods and five and seven-tenths (5·7) perches, more or less, being Sections Eight (8), Block IV, Takapau Survey District, and One (1), Block IV, Takapau Survey District (Hatuma Settlement), and being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 104, folio 110, and Vol. 105, folio 51 (Hawke’s Bay Registry).
