And whereas the said land is subject to a lease dated the 26th day of August, 1942, from Martin Leo O’Neill, of Hastings, Farmer, to William James Hirst, of Hastings, Farmer, and Noel Herbert Wilson, of Hastings, Printer, for a term of three (3) years from 1st September, 1942 :
Now, therefore, I, Benjamin Roberts, for the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 15th day of September, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

ALL that parcel of land containing thirteen (13) acres one (1) rood twenty-two (22) perches, more or less, being Lot Thirteen (13) on Deposited Plan No. 4158, part of Heretaunga Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 18, folio 256 (Hawke’s Bay Registry), subject to the fencing covenant contained in Transfer No. 45104, and also subject to the aforementioned lease dated 26th day of August, 1942, from Martin Leo O’Neill, of Hastings, Farmer, to William James Hirst, of Hastings, Farmer, and Noel Herbert Wilson, of Hastings, Printer.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
———
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 10th day of July, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land :
And whereas an appeal from the said Order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act :
And whereas the said appeal was subsequently withdrawn :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, I, Benjamin Roberts, for the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 1st day of February, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

ALL those parcels of land containing three hundred and seventy-eight (378) acres and twenty-four and two-tenths (24·2) perches, more or less, being Sections Nine (9), Block IV, Takapau Survey District, and Fifteen (15), Block I, Motuotaraia Survey District (Hatuma Settlement), and being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Vol. 104, folio 86, and Vol. 104, folio 164 (Hawke’s Bay Registry).
