Alterations to the Scale of Charges upon the New Zealand Government Railways

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges and to the Goods—Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 13th day of April, 1939, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of April, 1939, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of April, 1939, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES
PASSENGERS

  1. GENERAL REGULATIONS

By omitting paragraph 3 and substituting the following :—

“3. Unless otherwise provided, children under 4 years of age in the charge of a responsible person travel free ; children 4 years of age and under 15 years of age, at half rates.”

Paragraph 4: By omitting the words “under 14 years of age”, and substituting the words “under 15 years of age”.

4. Sleeping-berths

Paragraph 7 :—

By omitting from subparagraph (a) the words “under 14 years of age”, and substituting the words “under 15 years of age”.

By omitting from subparagraph (b) the words “both of whom are under 14 years of age”, and substituting the words “both of whom are under 15 years of age”.

By omitting from subparagraph (d) the words “Children 14 years of age and over”, and substituting the words “Children 15 years of age and over”.

9. Trip Bearer Tickets

Paragraph 4: By omitting the words “4 years of age and under 14 years of age”, and substituting the words “4 years of age and under 15 years of age”.

30. Judges proceeding to Shows, Exhibitors, Attendants, Owners, or Trainers travelling in Charge of Live-stock, Racehorses, or Polo Ponies

4. ATTENDANTS TRAVELLING IN HORSE-BOXES WITH RACEHORSES

Subparagraph (a): By omitting from eighth line the word “single”.

Subparagraph (c): By omitting the words “available for the single journey”.
