Trig. I; thence by a right line to Trig. A, Block X of the said survey
district; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of
Section 1, Block 13 of the said survey district; thence by a right
line to the intersection of Kotuku - Bell Hill Road and Grey Valley -
Taramakau Road, continuing in a southerly direction along the
said road to the intersection with the north-eastern boundary of
part of Subdivision I, Block XI, Te Kinga Survey District; thence
along the said boundary to the eastern corner thereof; thence in a
south-westerly direction generally following the south-eastern
boundary of said subdivision, Subdivision 6 in the said block and
survey district, and Section 21, Block X of the said survey district;
thence along the north-eastern, south-eastern, and south-western
boundaries of Section 2852, Blocks XI and XV, Te Kinga Survey
District; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-
eastern boundaries of Sections 18 and 17, Block X of the said survey
district, part Subdivision I, Blocks XIV and XIII of the said survey
district, and part Section 868, Block I, Otira Survey District;
along the western boundary of Sections 2208 and 2311, Block I of
the said survey district, till a point on the right or northern bank
of the Taramakau River is reached; thence westerly generally
along the said right bank of the Taramakau River to the point of
commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on
the plans marked P.W.D. 55566 and P.W.D. 12302, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered
green and red respectively.
Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, Inangahua County,
bounded by a line commencing at the point where the eastern bound-
ary of Block I, Pohaturoa Survey District, intersects the boundary
between the counties of Inangahua and Grey, and proceeding thence
in westerly and northerly directions generally along the said boundary
between the said counties to the point on the said boundary where
the line forming the northern boundary of Mawheraiti and Waitahu
Survey Districts intersects the boundary between the said counties;
thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks I, II, III,
and IV, Mawheraiti Survey District, including Section 15, Block III,
Sections 8, 3, and 9, Block IV, and all the railway land on the bound-
ary of Block IV aforesaid, up to the intersection of the north and
south line on the eastern boundary of that block; thence across the
railway land and along that line to its intersection with the line
forming the northern boundary of Block I, Waitahu Survey District;
thence along that line to its limit at the north-eastern corner of
Block I aforesaid; thence on the east generally by the line forming
the eastern boundary of Blocks I, V, IX, and XIII, Waitahu Survey
District, and Block I, Pohaturoa Survey District, to the point of
commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the
plans marked P.W.D. 89830 and P.W.D. 107577, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered
red.
THIRD SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Westland Land District commencing at the
intersection of the southern or left bank of the Taramakau River
with the eastern boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District;
thence easterly generally by the southern or left bank of the Tara-
makau River to Harper’s Pass; thence south-westerly generally
along the summit of the Southern Alps to Whitcombe Pass; thence
northerly by the right bank of the Whitcombe River to its junction
with Price River; thence northerly by a right line to the source of
the Mikonui River; thence westerly generally by the right bank
of the Mikonui River to where it meets the mean high-water mark
of the Tasman Sea; thence north-easterly generally by the mean
high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to where it meets the southern
boundary of Section 2545 in Block VII, Waimea Survey District,
produced westerly; thence easterly across a public road, along the
southern boundary of Section 2545, across a public road, the Hoki-
tika-Greymouth Railway, and again across a public road to the north-
western boundary of Section 3222; thence north-easterly along
that boundary and across D.J. Road to the south-western corner of
Section 129 (E.E.R.); thence in an easterly direction generally along
the northern side of D.J. Road to south-eastern corner of Section
3184; thence north-easterly and north-westerly by the south-
eastern and north-eastern boundary of Section 3184 to a point where
the south-eastern boundary of Section 3185 produced meets it;
thence north-easterly across the Greymouth-Kumara Road and
Crown land to the south-eastern corner of Section 3185; thence
northerly by the south-eastern boundary of that section across the
Greymouth-Kumara Tramway, and again by that boundary and the
eastern boundary of Section 3185 to the southern boundary of
Section 2069; thence in an easterly and northerly direction along
the southern and northern boundary of Section 2069 to the eastern
boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District; thence due north
across a public road to the point of commencement, excluding
therefrom the boroughs of Hokitika and Ross. As the same is more
particularly delineated an the plan marked P.W.D. 91386, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red and blue, but excepting therefrom the area bordered
red on plan marked P.W.D. 112302 deposited as aforesaid.

of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 1st day of March, 1944.

Settlement Land in Wellington Land District set apart for the Purposes
of Part I of the Housing Act, 1919

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by
section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, Cyril Louis Norton
Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the area of land described in the
Schedule hereto, being land acquired under the Land for Settlements
Consolidation Act, 1900, shall be, and the same is hereby, set apart
for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—CITY OF LOWER HUTT
SECTION 17s, Waddington Settlement, Block XIV, Belmont Survey
District: Area, 9 acres 0 roods 39 perches, more or less.

Amending the Foreshore License vesting the Management of certain
Wharves in the Hokianga Harbour Board

At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of March,
1944
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend the Order in Council
dated the twelfth day of February, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-one, and published in the Gazette of the twentieth day of
the same month at page 316, vesting the management of certain
wharves in the Hokianga Harbour Board by revoking clause one
in the Schedule to the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council and
substituting the following clause:—
“1. The vesting of the management of the wharves is subject
to the Foreshore License Regulations 1940, with the exception of
clauses twenty and twenty-one of the said regulations which for
the purpose of this Order in Council are hereby excluded, and the
provisions of the said regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply
hereto.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of
every other power in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the parts
of New Zealand described in the Schedule hereto a catchment
district under the said Act as from this first day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and doth hereby assign
to such catchment district the name of the “North Canterbury
Catchment District.”
SCHEDULE
ALL those areas in the Canterbury Land District comprising:—
That portion of the County of Ashburton, bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the sea-coast in line with the centre-line
of Acton Road forming the north-eastern boundary of R.S. 9585,
Block XI, Rakaia Survey District, being a point on the south-eastern
boundary of the County of Ashburton (New Zealand Gazette, 1939,
page 2115); thence north-westerly by a right line across the road
reserve to and along the said Acton Road to its junction with the
Great South Road at the south-eastern boundary of Rakaia
Township; thence south-westerly along that road to its junction
with the road forming the south-western boundary of Rakaia
Township aforesaid; thence north-westerly along that road to its
junction with the West Town Belt; thence north-easterly along
the said West Town Belt to Rakaia Road; thence north-westerly
along that road passing through Highbank Settlement, Blocks I and
II, Corwar Survey District, to its junction with Terrace Road;
thence along that road and the closed portion of the said road, now
Rural Sections 33478x and 26588x, to the West Coast Road;
thence along that road to its junction with the Rakaia Gorge Bridge
Road; thence westerly along that road to a point at the
westernmost corner of Rural Section 19667, Block X, Hutt Survey
