Varying the Determinations in respect of the Auckland City
Council's Loan of £30,000

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of
February, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twentieth
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
three, and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and
repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising
in New Zealand by the Auckland City Council (hereinafter
called “the said local authority”) of a loan of thirty
thousands pounds (£30,000), to be known as “North Shore
Boroughs (Auckland) Water-supply Additional Loan, 1943”
(hereinafter called “the said loan”):

And whereas the authority conferred by the said Order
in Council has not yet been exercised, and it is expedient to
vary certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of
the said loan:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government
Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of
the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby vary
the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said loan by
prescribing:—

(1) In lieu of term of thirty (30) years, as specified
in clause one of the said Order in Council, the term for
which the said loan may be raised shall not exceed twenty-
five (25) years.

(2) In lieu of a rate of interest not exceeding three
pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum, as
specified in clause two of the said Order in Council, the rate
of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan
shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a
rate exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum
per annum.

(3) In lieu of making provision for the repayment of
the said loan by the establishment of a sinking fund in
respect thereof, as specified in clause three of the said
Order in Council, the said local authority may raise the
said loan or any portion thereof upon terms of making the
same, together with interest thereon, repayable by equal
aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over
the term of twenty-five (25) years, as specified in clause one
hereof.

of the Auckland City Council's Loan of £540,000

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of
February, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the thirty-first
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
three (hereinafter called “the said Order in Council”), and
subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment
therein set out, consent was given to the raising in New
Zealand by the Auckland City Council (hereinafter called
“the said local authority”) of a loan of five hundred and
forty thousand pounds (£540,000), to be known as “Water-
works Extension Loan, 1943” (hereinafter called “the said
loan”):

And whereas the authority conferred by the said Order
in Council has not yet been exercised, and it is expedient to
vary certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of a
portion of the said loan amounting to one hundred thousand
pounds (£100,000) (hereinafter called “the said sum”), to
be known as “Waterworks Extension Loan, 1943, £540,000
(issue of £100,000)”:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government
Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of
the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby vary
certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said

Auckland City Council's Loan of £171,800

March, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the nineteenth day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-three (herein-
after called “the said Order in Council”), and subject to the
determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out,
consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Auckland
City Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) of a
loan of one hundred and seventy-one thousand eight hundred pounds
(£171,800), being the balance of a loan of two hundred and
twenty-one thousand eight hundred pounds (£221,800), known as
“Waterworks Development Loan, 1940”:

And whereas no portion of the said amount of one hundred
and seventy-one thousand eight hundred pounds (£171,800) has
yet been raised, and it is expedient to vary certain of the determina-
tions aforesaid in respect of a portion thereof amounting to twenty
thousand pounds (£20,000) (hereinafter called “the said sum”)
to be known as “Waterworks Development Loan, 1940 (issue of
£20,000)”:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on
him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act,
1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932
(No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in

Open Seasons for the taking or killing of Opossums in certain
Acclimatization Districts

March, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him
by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare
that opossums may be taken or killed within the acclimatization
districts specified in the Schedule hereto, except in any sanctuary
other than a scenic reserve, subject in all cases to the general regula-
tions made by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and to the special
conditions specified in connection with each district.
