Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 8th March, 1944, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

Otago Land District.—First-class Settlement Land
Clutha County.—Pomahaka Survey District.—Pomahaka Downs Settlement

Section 8, Block XIII: Area, 310 acres 1 rood 5 perches. Capital value, £1,060; half-yearly rent, £26 10s.

Weighted with £510 15s. for improvements, comprising four-roomed dwelling with scullery and pantry, combined stable-barn - shearing-shed, cow-byre, garage, fencing, drainage, and plantations. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £60 15s., the balance may be repaid over a period of twenty years, with interest at 5 per cent. per annum, by thirty-nine half-yearly instalments of £17 13s. 3d. and one final instalment of £17 17s. 5d.

This is a sheep-property situated on the Pomahaka Settlement Road nine miles by metalled road from Waipahi Post-office, School, and Railway-station, and twelve miles from the saleyards at Clinton. Easy, arable country, with light loam soil on clay and rock; watered by creeks and springs. Approximately 80 acres is in good pasture, 155 acres in worn-out pasture, 45 acres under cultivation, and 30 acres in natural state.

(1) Possession available 1st April, 1944.

(2) Unconsumed crops as at 1st April, 1944, including in stack (if any) are not included in the sale. The successful applicant shall purchase growing crops at valuation.

EVIDENCE of the loss of occupation license, Vol. 142, folio 115 (Taranaki Registry), for Subdivision 2 of Section 99 of Block X of the Kaupokonui Survey District, whereof CECIL ARTHUR MALCOLM, of Riverlea, Farmer, is the registered proprietor, having been lodged with me together with an application for a provisional license in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such provisional license after fourteen days from 24th February, 1944.

ESTATE OF WILLIAM HOLMES

In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Estate of WILLIAM HOLMES, late of Stratford, in New Zealand, Stock-agent, but now deceased.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand was, by an Order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand made at New Plymouth on the 11th day of February, 1944, appointed administrator of the estate of the said William Holmes, deceased, under Part IV of the Administration Act, 1908, and that the said estate will, as from the said date, be administered, realized, and distributed in accordance with the law and practice of bankruptcy.

Notice is further given that I do hereby summon a meeting of creditors of the above estate to be held at the Public Trust Office, Broadway, Stratford, on Thursday, the 24th day of February, 1944, at two o’clock in the afternoon.

Notice is finally given that all creditors, whether they have already submitted their claims or not, are required to prove their debts within the time and in the manner provided by the Bankruptcy Act, 1908. Proof-of-debt forms may be procured at my office.
