Revoking the Reservation over Portion of a Scenic Reserve in the Gisborne Land District

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is portion of a reserve duly set apart for scenic purposes :
And whereas the said land is no longer suitable for scenic purposes by reason of the absence of bush of scenic value thereon :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby revoke the reservation for scenic purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing 37 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, being Section 32 (formerly part of Section 31), Block X, Hangaroa Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/908c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 4256.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of October, 1943.

Proclaiming a Road-line laid off in Block XII, Hukerenui Survey District, North Auckland Land District, to be a Public Road

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the fifteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty, duly laid off as a road-line in pursuance of sections four hundred and seventy-seven, four hundred and seventy-eight, four hundred and seventy-nine, four hundred and eighty-one, four hundred and eighty-two, and four hundred and eighty-three of the Native Land Act, 1931 :
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the said Act :
And whereas one month’s notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of subsection two of section four hundred and eighty-seven of the said Act :
And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.

Constituting the Kowai Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4044)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1943
Present :
THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act :
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act :
And whereas the said petition is signed by a majority of the persons in the said area of land qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for the said proposed district, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Kowai Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE KOWAI RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Kowai, Canterbury Land District, containing 66,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the River Waipara opposite the stream forming the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 34256 and 34257, Block II, Grey Survey District; thence by a right line to and along the said stream to the south-eastern corner of Rural Section 34257; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that rural section; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Rural Section 34256 aforesaid and Rural Section 33149 to the north-western corner of Rural Section 37021; thence southerly generally along the western boundary of that rural section to its junction with the boundary of the County of Kowai; thence south-easterly generally following the said county boundary along the summit of the range to Mount Grey and continuing southward to a point on the road at the northernmost corner of Rural Section 34744 in Blocks IX and X, Grey Survey District; thence by a right line to a point on the right bank of the south branch of the River Kowai due east of the said point on the road at the county boundary at the northernmost corner of Rural Section 34744; thence south-easterly generally along the said right bank of the south branch of the River Kowai and the right bank of the River Kowai to the low-water mark of the sea; thence north-easterly along the said low-water mark of the sea to the left bank of the River Waipara; thence north-westerly generally along the said left bank of that river to the point of commencement.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, being part of the Selwyn County, and containing 410,400 acres, more or less: Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of the Sewlyn County, the said point being in line with the south-westerly production of the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 37115; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly generally along the said county boundary to the eastern side of the Wilberforce River; thence southerly by a right line to Trig.
