Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Manufacture of Paper-pulp and Paper-products
NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been received
from the following for licenses to engage in the industry
of the manufacture of paper-pulp or paper-products (as defined in
the Industry Licensing (Pulp and Paper Manufacture) Notice 1939)
to the extent of manufacturing multi-wall paper bags :—
- N.Z. Forest Products, Ltd., Auckland.
- National Mortgage and Agency Co. of N.Z., Ltd., Dunedin.
- Wilson’s (N.Z.) Portland Cement, Ltd., Auckland, on behalf
of a company to be formed in which the principal share-
holders will be the applicant company, the Golden
Bay Cement Co., Ltd., Wellington, and the Milburn
Lime and Cement Co., Ltd., Dunedin.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications, and
who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them
in writing not later than 17th September, 1943.
Taking of Fish for Sale
An application has been received from A. McFarlane, Seddon
Street, Waihi, for a license to take fish for sale by means of the
fishing-vessel “Dawn” (to be registered), using Danish seine-nets,
set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches
to be landed at Waihi Beach.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the
decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who
wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in
writing not later than 23rd September, 1943.

New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification amended
NOTICE is given of the issue of Amendment No. 1 (dated
September, 1943) to the New Zealand Emergency Standard
Specification entitled “Simplified Practice for the Manufacture of
Household Furniture”, which is cited in the Household Furniture
Manufacture Control Notice 1943.*
Copies of the specification as amended may be obtained from
the Secretary, New Zealand Standards Institute, Lambton Quay,
Wellington C.1, price 6d. per copy, post free. Each person who
has already purchased a copy of the specification is entitled to a
copy of the amendment free of charge.
