Poukawa Drainage Area.-Notice of Intention to make and levy
General Rates
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the
Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make
and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa
Drainage Area, the general rates described in the Schedule hereto,
such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from
the 1st day of April, 1943, to the 31st day of March, 1944, the cost
of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of
works constructed under that Act in the said area.
The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum
on the 30th day of August, 1943, together with the annually recurring
special rates already made and levied.
The valuation roll and rate-book of the area are open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post-office Building, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE
GENERAL RATES
Class A.-On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, ninepence and ninety-four one-hundredths of a penny (9.94d.) in the pound.
Class B.-On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, one penny and sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1⋅66d.) in the pound.
Class C.-On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (0⋅33d.) in the pound.

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.-Notice of making and levying General Rates
I, JAMES GILLISPIE BARCLAY, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all lands within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period from 1st April, 1943, to 31st March, 1944, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th July, 1943.
The rate book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
Class A.-On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, sixpence and eighty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (6⋅87d.) in the pound.
Class B.-On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, threepence and ninety-three one-hundredths of a penny (3⋅93d.) in the pound.
Class C.-On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, ninety-eight one-hundredths of a penny (0⋅98d.) in the pound.

The Pig Marketing Emergency Regulations 1943.-Notice fixing Prices and Basic Values
PURSUANT to Regulation 5 of the Pig Marketing Emergency Regulations 1943, I hereby fix the following scale of prices being the maximum prices that an operator may pay for pigs of the kinds therein mentioned purchased or killed, as the case may be, during the periods therein mentioned.

MAXIMUM PRICES AT WHICH PIGS MAY BE PURCHASED BY OPERATORS
I. Purchased at an Auction on a 'No Grade' Basis
Porkers-
When purchased during the month of June, 1943 : 7d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
When purchased during the month of July or August, 1943 : 7½d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
When purchased during the month of September, 1943 : 7d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
Baconers-
When purchased during the month of June, July, August, or September, 1943 : 7½d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
When purchased during the month of October, 1943 : 7d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
Overweight Baconers-
When purchased during the month of June, July, August, or September, 1943 : 5¼d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
When purchased during the month of October, 1943 : 5d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
Choppers-
When purchased during the month of July, August, September, or October, 1943 : 3¼d. per pound dressed weight (including head), less cost of delivery to nearest port works.
II. Purchased otherwise than at an Auction
(a) On a 'no grade' basis, delivered at nearest port works, less customary charges usually payable by vendor-
