Taking of Fish for Sale
A N application has been received from C. B. Pearce, 11 Shelly Street, Christchurch, for a license to take fish for sale by means of the 36 ft. 10 h.p. fishing-vessel “Helene,” using trawl-nets, long lines, hand-lines, set-nets, drag-nets, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Lyttelton.
An application has been received from G. Nicholson, 8 Benvenue Avenue, Timaru, for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license to enable him to operate a new 50 ft. 70 h.p. fishing-vessel (to be constructed), using trawl-nets, long lines, and hand-lines.
Manufacture of Wooden Heels
An application has been received from G. N. Raymond (N.Z.), Ltd., 35-37 Ghuznee Street, Wellington, for a license to manufacture wooden heels.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than 17th June, 1943.

Dangerous Area established
Position : Akaroa Harbour entrance light. Lat., 43° 53' 30” S.; long., 172° 59' 00" E. (approx.)
Limits of area : North limit : From a position 337° distant 3°82 miles from the above light in a 272° direction to Seven Fathom Head. South limit : From the above light in a 251° direction to Timutimu.
Details : The limits are to be inserted in pecked line and the note on Chart No. 1575 “Dangerous Area” (see Caution), and on Charts Nos. 2529 and 2532 “Dangerous Area” is to be inserted.
Remarks : On Chart No. 1575 the following cautionary note is to be inserted below the existing caution in the south-eastern corner of the chart :
“CAUTION.-Anchoring and fishing in the dangerous area are prohibited, and passage through the area without permission is highly dangerous. Vessels disregarding this warning do so at their peril.”
