The Hamilton Milk Delivery Notice 1943

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Hamilton Milk Delivery Notice 1943.
  2. This notice shall come into force on the Monday following the publication thereof in the Gazette.
  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the said district.
  4. The Hamilton Milk Delivery Scheme, 1942, and amendment thereof, are hereby revokedf.

SCHEDULE

THE HAMILTON MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1943

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,

  • "The district" means the Borough of Hamilton as indicated by zones marked on the plan :
  • "The plan" means the plan of the district deposited for the purpose of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. TT 3398;
  • "Minister" means the Minister of Transport:
  • "Zone" means a zone of the district marked on the said plan:
  • "Milk" includes cream.

(2) For the purposes of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee, which shall consist of the following members:

  • (a) Two members to be appointed by the Hamilton Borough Council:
  • (b) One member to be appointed by the Hamilton Milk-vendors' Association (Incorporated):
  • (c) The Zoning Officer for North Island.

(3) On the death or resignation of any member of the committee, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.

(4) The functions of the committee shall be to receive and investigate complaints affecting the administration of this scheme, to advise the Minister on any matters that may be referred to the committee by the Minister or that may be considered by it of its own motion, and to make recommendations to the Minister for amending this scheme.

(5) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme, the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

(6) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows:

In the zone numbered (3), and also wholesale supplies of loose and bottled milk to Jackson's Shop, Martin's Shop, and Faville's Bakehouse, Grey Street, in the zone numbered (6); the Dolley Varden Milk Bar, Regal Tea-rooms, Murray Tea-rooms, and Caro's Great Bargain Stores, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (12); the Centreway Dining-rooms and the Rose Tea-rooms, Garden Place, and the Elite Tea-rooms, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (13).
4. J. Williams, Enderley Avenue, Claudelands In the zone numbered (4), and also wholesale supplies to Cassell Hospital, Von Tempsky Street, in the zone numbered (6).
5. J. Bowler, Plunket Terrace, Hamilton East In the zone numbered (5), and also wholesale supplies to the Central Dining-room, Victory Milk Bar, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (12), and the All Night Cafe, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (13).
6. Newstead Pure Milk Co., Newstead .. In the zone numbered (6), and also wholesale supplies of loose and bottled milk to Potts' Shop, Galloway Street, in the zone numbered (8); Oliver's Shop, Grey Street, in the zone numbered (3); Perry's Shop, Grey Street, in the zone numbered (9); Gordon's Shop, Parke Street,cliffe's Shop, Pembroke Street, Elmsley's Shop, Hood Street, Walker's and Molloy's Shops, Ward Street, Technical School, Tristram Street, Cook's Shop, Butler's Shop, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (12); Cook's Shop, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (13); and the Railway Tea-rooms in the zone numbered (15).
7. E. Robinson, Knighton Road, Hamilton East In the zone numbered (7), and also wholesale supplies to the Royal Hotel and the Waikato Hotel, Grey Street, in the zone numbered (6), the Commercial Hotel and the Blue Band Pie Shop, Victoria Street, in the zone numbered (12).
