HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Hokianga County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes of a road—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council at Rawene, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth their objections in writing, and send the same, on or before the 1st day of March, 1943 (being the date not more than forty days from the publication of this notice), to the County Clerk, Parnell Street, Rawene.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Featherston County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to take for the purpose of a certain public work—namely, the realignment and improvement of a public road, being Main Highway No. 74—the lands described in the First Schedule hereto: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Kitchener Street, Martinborough, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Kitchener Street, Martinborough.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Rotorua Racing Club (Inc.) at a meeting held on the 12th day of January, 1943, at Rotorua, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. F. Goodson, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. F. Goodson, the Chairman of such club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. J. A. Brown seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—
ROTORUA RACING CLUB (INC.).
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Rotorua Racing Club (Inc.), a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Matamata Racecourse and grounds, situated in the district of Matamata and known as the Matamata Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
(a) Bookmakers :
(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents :
(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association :
