Declaring Places to be Prohibited Places under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the places specified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited places for the purposes of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
SCHEDULE.
EVANS BAY RIFLE RANGE.
All that area in the Wellington Land District situate in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington), and being parts Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 2592, and part Lot 42, Block I, D.P. 1335, and part Lot 4, D.P. 1916, being part Section 9, Watts Peninsula District, and part Evans Bay Reclamation, as referred to in the Fourth Schedule to the Wellington Harbour Board Reclamation and Empowering Act, 1908, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Aberdeen Quay, distant 780 links from survey peg No. IX on D.P. 2592; thence in a south-easterly direction by a right line bearing 120° 17' 20" to a contour line, being 150 ft. above City Datum; thence in a south-westerly direction by that contour line to Wexford Road; thence in a north-westerly direction by Wexford Road and Watford Street to Aberdeen Quay; thence in a north-westerly and north-easterly direction by Aberdeen Quay to the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 63, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
DEFENCE AREA, WRIGHT'S HILL.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, partly in the City of Wellington and partly in the Makara County, situate in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District, and being part Section 9 and parts 1 and 2 of Section 2, Upper Kaiwarra District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point being the south-eastern corner of Lot 8, D.P. 1543; thence in a south-easterly direction along a right line bearing 159° 54', distance 872 links, to the land taken by the Wellington City Council for waterworks; thence in a south-westerly direction along a right line bearing 212° 28', distance 3354·2 links, to peg numbered XV on S.O. plan 15414, and along right lines having bearings and distances as follows: 210° 23'-835·73; 183° 25'-404·15; 266° 40'-364·34, to the eastern boundary of Section 10, Upper Kaiwarra District; thence in a north-westerly and north-easterly direction by that eastern boundary, the south-eastern boundaries of Section 55, Karori District, the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 6, 5, and 2, D.P. 1440, and Lots 10, 9, and 8, D.P. 1543, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned lot, the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Army P.P. 64, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
DEFENCE AREA, TOMAHAWK, DUNEDIN.
All that area in the Otago Land District being part of Blocks VII and VIII, Otago Peninsula Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on high-water mark, Pacific Ocean, 7750 links due west from Trig. “U”; thence north-easterly to the south-western boundary of Section 9 aforesaid, Block VIII; thence north-easterly and easterly by a road-line to a point in Section 3 aforesaid, Block VII, approximately 4 chains south-east of Dunedin-Highcliff via Tomahawk Main Highway; thence south-westerly through D.P. 4964 to a point on high-water mark, Pacific Ocean, 2150 links east of commencing point; thence westerly along said high-water mark to place of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 65, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
DEFENCE AREA, WHARF STREET, DUNEDIN.
All that area in the town of Dunedin being part of Otago Harbour Board’s Endowment commencing at the northern corner of D.P. 3072 (Dunedin City Council tip); thence south-easterly to a point on the retaining wall in line with the north-eastern boundary of the said D.P. 3072; thence southerly along the said retaining wall to a point in line with a point on Wharf Street, 1850 links south-west of starting point; thence north-westerly to the said point on Wharf Street; thence north-easterly along Wharf Street, 1850 links to the starting point. As the same is delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 66, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

DEFENCE AREA AT NEW PLYMOUTH.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, being part of Block IV, Paritutu Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Section 137, Omata District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said Section 137 and that boundary produced to the eastern side of Paritutu Road; thence southerly along the western boundary of Lot I on Plan 1960, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at New Plymouth; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said Lot I, and northerly along the road forming the eastern boundary of that lot to the south-eastern corner of Section 102 on Plan 5074, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at New Plymouth; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section 102 and northerly along the western boundary of Sections 102, 101, 100, 99, and 98 on the said Plan 5074, to the southern boundary of Section 811, Grey District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section 811 for a distance of 870 links; thence along a right line at a bearing of 330° to high-water mark of the sea; thence westerly and southerly generally along high-water mark of the sea to the south-western corner of Section 137, Omata District, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 67, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
DEFENCE AREA AT GISBORNE.
All that area in the Gisborne Land District, situated in the Borough of Gisborne and Block VII, Turanganui Survey District, and being Recreation Reserves (part Kaiti 344 and Lot 6 (D.P. 2004), and Lot 7B of Kaiti 337¹); and Waterworks Reserve (Kaiti 342 and parts of 340, 341, and 337¹); and Kaiti 338, 339, 344A, 344B, 345, 346, 347, Lot 7A of 337¹ and part of 334, 340, 341, and 337¹, and 337A 2; and part of Lot 1 (D.P. 2956), Gisborne Harbour Board Foreshore Endowment. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 68, 205/3/1, deposited in the office of Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Order declaring Prohibited Places under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the places specified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited places for the purposes of the said regulations.
SCHEDULE.
(1) Cape Campbell.—All that area in the Marlborough Land District, Awatere County, situated in Block IV, Cape Campbell Survey District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 18·7 perches, more or less, and being part Lot 7, D.P. 564, being also part Section 100, Flaxbourne Registration District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point, bearing 153° 16', distant 128·51 links from trigonometrical station “B,” and proceeding thence in a south-westerly, westerly, north-easterly, south-easterly, and south-westerly direction generally by right lines having bearings and distances in links as follows: 242° 10'-287·23; 271° 22' 30"-113·49; 295° 32'-169·01; 14° 23' 30"-128·20; 26° 41' 30"-87·49; 29° 28'-247·66; 24° 52'-189·94; 74° 05'-210·15; 143° 14'-364·01; 193° 53' 30"-159·38; 210° 08'-122·08; 242° 51' 30"-82·37, to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked “A,” deposited at Navy Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
(2) Paekakariki.—All that area in the Wellington Land District, Hutt County, situated in Block III, Paekakariki Survey District, being part of Horokiwi Valley Road, Section 78, and part Section 77, Wainui District, together with part Lot 1 on D.P. 4268, being part of Section 52, Wainui District, and together with part Lot 2 on D.P. 4269, being part of Section 51, Wainui District, bounded as follows, and commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Horokiwi Valley Road at the westernmost corner of Section 78, Wainui District, along a right line bearing 284° 24' for a distance of 94·27 links, to the middle of Horokiwi Valley Road; thence along right lines bearing 360° for a distance of 313·9 links; and bearing 84° 44' 10" for a distance of 216·3 links, to the north-western side of Horokiwi Valley Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western side of Horokiwi Valley Road for distances of 21 links and 262·5 links respectively; thence along right lines bearing 128° 13' 45" for a distance of 663·4 links, bearing 186° 14' for a distance of 263·0 links, bearing 284° 31' 20" for a distance of 573·8 links, and bearing 284° 24' for a distance of 147·27 links to Horokiwi Valley Road, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked “B,” deposited at Navy Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
(3) Worser Bay Station.—Firstly, all that area situated in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington), and being Lot 16 and part Lot 17, D.P. 5112, being also part of Section 8, Watts Peninsula District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Lot 18, D.P. 5112, and closed road and Awa Street; towards the east by Awa Street; towards the south by Marine Parade; and towards the west by Lot 15 and part Lot 14, D.P. 2851.
Secondly, all that area situated partly in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington), and partly in the Harbour of Port Nicholson, being part of the waters of Port Nicholson Harbour, part of Marine Parade, part of Section 8, Watts Peninsula District (as shown on plan S.O. 16620), together with Lot 9 and parts Lots 7, 8, and 10, D.P. 2755, being part of Section 8, Watts Peninsula District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point being a fence-post, distant 21·8 links on a bearing of 91° 57' from Iron Bolt VI, defining the northernmost corner of the land in S.O. 16620; thence in a south-easterly direction by a right line bearing 120° 51' 45" for a distance of 1768·47 links; thence in a south-westerly direction by a right line bearing 227° 17' for a distance of 1515·15 links; thence in a north-westerly direction by a right line bearing 317° 17' for a distance of 1515·15 links to a fence-post; thence in a north-westerly and north-easterly direction generally by fence-lines
