IT is notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section 9 of the State Advances Corporation Act, 1936, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, has appointed David Barnes, Esquire, to be a Director of the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand, to hold office during pleasure, such appointment to take effect on and from the 1st day of January, 1943.

The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939.—Appointment of Emergency Disputes Committee.
In the matter of a dispute between the Wellington Federated Seamen’s Industrial Union of Workers and Richardson and Company, Limited, in connection with the vessel “Pakura.”
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee for the purpose of deciding such dispute, and doth refer such dispute to such Committee accordingly :

Pursuant to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth hereby appoint Friday, the 5th day of February, 1943, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Eltham Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. W. L. Griffiths.
