Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 15th September, 1942.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 26th October, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 28th October, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit on weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.—Rangi Survey District.
SECTION 15, Block II: Area, 331 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £155. Deposit on deferred payments, £15: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £5 16s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 2s.
Weighted with £330 for improvements, comprising three-roomed dwelling, cow-byre, washhouse, approximately 220 chains fencing, 90 acres felled and burned, and 10 acres cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £30, the balance may be repaid over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of £11 19s., including principal and interest at 5 per cent. per annum.
This is a grazing property situated on the Taumarunui-Te Kuiti Road, six miles and a half from Taumarunui Post-office, two miles from Okahukura School and Railway-station, sixteen miles from Kaitieke Dairy Factory, and seven miles from Taumarunui Sale-yards; access is by tar-sealed road. The soil comprises pumice and light loam resting on sandstone formation; watered by river and springs. Approximately 180 acres felled and grassed, now reverted, 10 acres in fair pasture, 80 acres in worn-out pasture and scattered fern, and 60 acres in bush. Ragwort and blackberry are prevalent, while rabbits are plentiful. This property is suitable only as an additional area for a settler already established in the district.

Town Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Hokitika, 15th September, 1942.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 2nd November, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 4th November, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
NOTE.—These lands are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

Grey County.—Cobden Survey District.—Westland Mining District.—Town of Rapahoe.
SECTION 7, Block VI: Area, 1 rood 8·8 perches. Capital value, £55; half-yearly rent, £1 7s. 6d.
Section 8, Block VI: Area, 1 rood 6·6 perches. Capital value, £50; half-yearly rent, £1 5s.
These are residential sections in the Town of Rapahoe, which is situated on the sea-coast in the locality known as Point Elizabeth. The town is two miles distant from State Coal-mine at Runanga, and seven miles from Greymouth by railway and good metalled road.

NOTICE is hereby given that The Girl Guides’ Association (Dominion of New Zealand Branch), intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session for the passing of a Private Bill, the short title of which is “The Girl Guides’ Association (New Zealand Branch) Incorporation Act, 1942,” to effect the following objects:—
(a) To provide for the incorporation of the members of the General Council of the Girl Guides’ Association (New Zealand Branch) by the name of “The Girl Guides’ Association (New Zealand Branch) Incorporated,” having perpetual succession and a common seal and capable of holding real and personal property, and of doing and suffering all that bodies corporate may do and suffer.
(b) To provide that the control of the Girl Guides’ movement in all its activities in New Zealand shall be vested in the Corporation.
(c) To provide that the Corporation may from time to time alter and amend the constitution and by-laws, and may thereby delegate the administration of any matter.
