Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy tractors, shall not apply to Margaret Jean Black, of Akon, Douglas Edward Goodin, of Pungarehu, and Eric Gustavus Sole, of Bell Block.

The Palmerston North City Meat Delivery Notice 1942.
PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :-

This notice may be cited as the Palmerston North City Meat Delivery Notice 1942.

This notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE PALMERSTON NORTH CITY MEAT DELIVERY SCHEME 1942.
(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,
“ The district ” means the area of the City of Palmerston North :
“ Wholesale purchaser ” means a person who purchases meat for resale or for transport to an area outside the district or for consumption at a military camp, hotel, hospital, or similar institution requiring large supplies of meat daily.
(2) It shall be a condition of this scheme that meat shall be delivered within the district to the premises of wholesale purchasers only.
(3) The names and addresses of the vendors who are parties to this scheme are as follows :-

Poukawa Drainage Area.—Making and levying General Rates.
I, ARNOLD HENRY NORDMEYER, acting for the Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all lands within the Poukawa Drainage Area constituted under the said Act the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from the 1st day of April, 1942, to the 31st day of March, 1943, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under that Act in the said area, and I direct that the said rates (together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied) will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1942, to the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland. The rate-book is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of the same is available for inspection at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post-office Buildings, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE.
Class A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, ninepence and ninety-four one-hundredths of a penny (9·94d.) in the pound.
Class B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1·66d.) in the pound.
Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·33d.) in the pound.

Order declaring Prohibited Places under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
PURSUANT to Regulation 19 of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the places specified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited places for the purposes of the said regulations.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

Kawhia South Head.—All that area of land containing approximately 40 acres, being Lots 8 to 34 (inclusive), and parts of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 35, 36, and 41 of Block 3, and Lots 13 to 20 (inclusive), and parts of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 21, 22, and 23 of Block 2 of the northern portion of the Parawai Native Township (part of the Tararoa A Block), situated in Block IX of the Kawhia North Survey District, in the Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Navy N.A. 017/2/1 (No. 1), deposited in the office of the Naval Secretary, Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Cape Karikari.—All that area of land containing approximately 1,300 acres, being the Whangapuka Block, and Section 1a 2 and parts of Sections 1a 1 and 2 of the Karikari Block, situated in Block I of the Karikari Survey District, Mangonui County, in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Navy N.A. 017/2/1 (No. 2), deposited in the office of the Naval Secretary, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Also an area of sea extending to a distance of 400 yards beyond high-water mark along the whole of the seaward boundary of the above-defined area.
- Bream Head.—All that area of land containing approximately 275 acres, being Allotments 77, 77A, and 79A (Scenic Reserve), and Allotment S.F. 81 (C.L.), of the Manaia Parish, situated in Block XI of the Taranga Survey District, Whangarei County, in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Navy N.A. 017/2/1 (No. 3), deposited in the office of the Naval Secretary, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Also an area of sea extending to a distance of 400 yards beyond high-water mark along the whole of the seaward boundary of the above-defined area.
- Thumb Point (Waiheke).—All that area of land containing approximately 610 acres, being Allotment 28 of the Parish of Waiheke, situated in Block IV of the Waiheke Survey District, in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Navy N.A. 017/2/1 (No. 4), deposited in the office of the Naval Secretary, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Also an area of sea extending to a distance of 400 yards beyond high-water mark along the whole of the seaward boundary of the above-defined area.
- Cape Colville.—All that area of land containing approximately 450 acres, being Sections 18 and 19 and part of Poi-Hakene No. 2 Block, situated in Block I of the Colville Survey District, Coromandel County, in the Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Navy N.A. 017/2/1 (No. 5), deposited in the office of the Naval Secretary, Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Also an area of sea extending to a distance of 400 yards beyond high-water mark along the whole of the seaward boundary of the above-defined area.
WELLINGTON DISTRICT.
- East Cape.—First, all that area of land containing approximately 51 acres 2 roods 17 perches, being parts of Marangairoa Block 1c 6, situated in Block XVI of the East Cape Survey District, in the Gisborne Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 53945, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged pink ; and being the land taken for the purposes of a lighthouse by Proclamation dated 19th May, 1923, published in the Gazette of 24th May, 1923 (No. 47), at page 1410.
Secondly, all that area of land containing approximately 21 acres 0 roods 35 perches, being part of Marangairoa Block 1c 6z, situated in Block XVI of the East Cape Survey District, in the Gisborne Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked P.W.D. 63995, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red ;
