Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building,
Wellington, on Monday, 3rd August, 1942, at 2 o’clock p.m.,
but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined
by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown
Lands. Applicants are required to produce evidence of their
financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period
rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Kaitieke County.—Kaitieke Survey District.

SECTION 10, Block VI: Area, 277 acres. Capital value, £85.
Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment
on deferred payments (term: ten years), £5 5s. 1d. Renewable
lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 14s.

Weighted with £85 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising fencing, felling, and grassing.

This section is situated on the Retaruke–Kaitieke Road
close to Kaitieke Township. Access by metalled road.
Approximately 30 acres is open country, two-thirds plough-
able, and the balance is steep, broken, shady country all
reverted to manuka. Section is useful only as an adjunct to
adjoining land.

Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property
is open for selection on optional tenures under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to noon
on Monday, 24th August, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building,
Wellington, on Wednesday, 26th August, 1942, at 10.30
o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may
be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence
of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period
rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment
on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £11 8s. 6d.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 14s.

Weighted with £385 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising dwelling, wool-shed, cow-byre, sheep dip and
pens, garage, fencing, felling, and grassing.

This property is situated about 5 chains off the Kawautahi
Road, seven miles from Kaitieke, one mile from Kawautahi
School, and eleven miles from Owhango Railway-station.
The area is well watered by streams and is suitable as a
grazing proposition; subdivided into six paddocks. Approximately 30 acres undulating to hilly land which is ploughable,
balance high, steep, broken country. There are 12 acres
medium pasture, about 500 acres worn-out pasture and fern,
497 acres reverted to fern and tea-tree, and 120 acres natural
state.

Education Reserve in Wellington Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction
at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Insurance
Building, Wellington, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 27th
August, 1942, under the provisions of the Education Reserves
Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and
amendments.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

Rangitikei County.—Hautapu Survey District.

PART Section 23, Block VI: Area, 320 acres (approx.).
Upset half-yearly rent, £22.

The felling and grassing on the property belong to the
Education Endowment, and the value of these improvements
is included in the rental value.

Weighted with £220 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising 104 chains road-fencing, 115 chains internal
fencing, 29½ chains boundary-fencing.

This property is situated on the Mangaweka Road seven
miles from Mangaweka and twelve miles from Taihape; access
is by metalled road. The section is well watered by springs
and small streams, and the soil is light loam on sandstone and
papa formation. Property is suitable for grazing.

NOTE.—Possession will be given one month following date
of sale.

Form of lease may be perused and full particulars obtained
from the undersigned.

NOTICE is hereby given that a first and final dividend
of 2s. 6¾d. in the pound is now payable at my office
on all proved and accepted claims in the above estate.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.

EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of occupation
license, Vol. 26A, folio 112 (Wellington Registry),
for 26 acres and 15 perches, more or less, being Section 3,
Block IV, Retaruke Survey District, in the name of JOHN
REGINALD POWELL, of Taumarunui, Farmer, and
application having been made to embody in the provisional
register a certificate of the purchase of the freehold of the
said land without production of the said occupation license,
notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 40 of the Land
Transfer Act, 1915, of my intention to embody such certificate of purchase accordingly after fourteen days from the
date of the Gazette containing this notice.
Dated this 21st day of July, 1942, at the Land Transfer
Office, Wellington.
