NOTICE is hereby given that on the 14th day of July, 1942, a special resolution was passed by the shareholders of Johnson and Brown, Ltd., that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN RICHARD JOHNSON, of Dunedin, Company-manager, be appointed liquidator of the company.

**PETONE AND LOWER HUTT GAS LIGHTING BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.**
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of nineteen thousand pounds (£19,000), authorized to be raised by the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the extension of its undertaking by purchasing, erecting, and installing a gas-holder, the said the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen one-hundredths of a penny (15/100d.) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Petone and the City of Lower Hutt; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned, Donald Cumming Campbell, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose. Mark on pegs : X. Preoise time of marking out privilege applied for : Thursday, 17th June, 1942, 11 a.m. Date and number of miner's right : 17th June, 1942 ; No. 75827. Address for service : Care of Charles W. Thorp, Solicitor, Motueka. Dated at Motueka, this 1st day of July, 1942.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points ; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise : Locality—Pupu Takaka, commencing at a point l chain upstream in Fish Gully from southern boundary of Section 39, Block IX, Waitapu Survey District; thence northerly 20 chains towards northern boundary of said Section 39 ; traversing part private land and part Crown land.
Length and intended course of race : 20 chains northerly. Points of intake : At commencing point as above. Estimated time and cost of construction : Already constructed.
Mean depth and breadth : 1 ft. 6 in. by 2 ft. Number of heads to be diverted : Six. Purpose for which water is to be used : Domestic purposes, mining, and milling.
Proposed term of license : Twenty years.
