Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Edward Benjamin Howard Nicholls, of the Public Trust Office, Nelson, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Nelson, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

Tires, Tubes, and Scrap Rubber.-Appointment of Authorized Receiving Agents.

THE Minister of Supply and Munitions doth hereby appoint the National Council for the Reclamation of Waste Material and the several classes of persons described in the Schedule hereto, or such of them as may be prepared to accept the appointment, to act as the agents of the Minister to receive on his behalf tires, tubes, and other scrap rubber of all kinds within the meaning of the Scrap Rubber Control Notice 1942, subject to the following stipulations:

  1. The agency is to be accepted by the act of receiving any tire, tube, or other scrap rubber on behalf of the Minister.
  2. The appointment is honorary.
  3. The agency once accepted may at any time be terminated by notice in writing to the Minister.
  4. If a person ceases to possess the qualifications by reason of which he is included in this appointment his agency shall thereupon be deemed to be terminated.
  5. The agent will report to the Secretary of Supply at any time, on request, the quantity of goods held by him.
    SCHEDULE.
  6. ALL persons, firms, and companies whose names are included in the list of authorized tire resellers as determined by the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association (Incorporated) and the New Zealand Tyre Importers' Association.
  7. All persons, firms, and companies being the occupiers of premises for the time being registered as manufacturing dairies under the Dairy-produce Regulations 1938.

The Islington Freezing-works Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1942.

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:-

  1. This Order may be cited as the Islington Freezing-works Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1942.
  2. This Order applies to the New Zealand Refrigerating Co., Ltd., Christchurch, and to female workers employed by that company in the preserving department of its works at Islington.
  3. The provisions of all Acts and regulations thereunder, and of the New Zealand (except Westland) Freezing-workers' award dated the 12th day of July, 1941, and recorded in 41 Book of Awards 692, shall be and are hereby suspended in so far as any such provisions operate to prevent overtime being worked by the workers referred to in clause 2 hereof from 7.30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. on each day from Monday to Friday inclusive, and from 7.30 a.m. on Saturday, but such suspension shall be subject to the following conditions, viz.:-
    The maximum overtime that may be worked shall be two hours per day from Monday to Friday inclusive, and four hours on Saturday, and such overtime shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half, with a minimum of ls. 6d. per hour.
  4. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date hereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property will be offered for sale for cash or on deferred payments by public auction on the section at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, 19th August, 1942, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.-FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.-Ohura Survey District.
PART Section 14, Block III, and Allotment 31, D.P. 3910, part Section 1, Block IV : Area, 20 acres 3 roods 19·4 perches. Upset price, £500. Minimum deposit on deferred payments, £100.
Term of license : Twenty years.
Instalments are payable half-yearly, and are calculated at the rate of £4 3s. ld. per £100 of the purchase-price unpaid after payment of the deposit.
The property is at present connected with the railway water-supply, and the purchaser will be required to arrange with the Railways Department for a continuation of the existing rights. The Department has intimated that it is prepared to grant the rights to the purchaser of the property.
This property is situated on the Matiere-Ohura Road, one-quarter of a mile from Matiere Post-office, Railway-station, and Dairy Factory, half a mile from Matiere School, and one mile from Matiere Saleyards. Access is by good metalled road from Matiere. The property is watered by a creek and pipe-line from the railway water-supply, and the soil is medium loam on clay and papa formation. The area is all easy undulating, with about acre in swamp which could be drained, the balance being all ploughable and in fair pasture. Subdivided into eight paddocks. The property is suitable for dairying, and is free of noxious weeds. Improvements on the property included in the upset price comprise dwelling, cow-byre, wells, trough, &c., 50 chains internal fencing, 30 chains boundary-fencing, 20 acres felled and grassed, and 15 acres cultivated.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Insurance Building, Wellington, at 2 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 24th August, 1942, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.

SECTION 13, Block I : Area, 1 rood. Upset half-yearly rent, £3 5s.
Weighted with £52 10s. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising cottage (26 ft. by 14 ft.) two rooms and lean-to (in poor order), and 5 chains of fencing.
This is a residential section situated in Linnett Street, one-quarter of a mile from the Taihape Post-office, Railway-station, and School. Section is level but is low lying, and is very wet in winter.
