EXECUTIVE BRANCH.
Sub-Lieutenant to Lieutenant.
(a) To have attained two years’ seniority as Sub-Lieutenant, including probationary time;
(b) To have served at least one year on articles in full charge of a watch for eight hours out of every twenty-four at sea while in possession of a First Mate’s Certificate, naval training in a seagoing vessel to be counted;
(c) To be in possession of satisfactory records and reports of service for the period of (a), including a Watch-keeping Certificate from the naval authorities.
(a) Served for three years as Sub-Lieutenant, including probationary time;
(b) Performed the requisite naval training as Sub-Lieutenant and have been well reported on by Commanding Officers;
(c) Passed qualifying examinations in gunnery, mine-sweeping, depth charges, and signals;
(d) Recommended by the Commanding Officer of his Division.
(a) Attained the age of twenty-five;
(b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized service and/or training whilst holding the rank of Probationary Sub-Lieutenant or above;
(c) Possess a Naval Watch-keeping Certificate. See paragraph 4 of this Order;
(d) Recommended by Commanding Officer;
Or,—
(a) Attained two years six months’ seniority as Probationary Sub-Lieutenant or above;
(b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized service and/or naval training whilst holding the rank of Probationary Sub-Lieutenant or above;
(c) Possess a Naval Watch-keeping Certificate. See paragraph 4 of this Order;
(d) Recommended by Commanding Officer;
Or,—
(a) Confirmed as Sub-Lieutenant after satisfactorily completing a minimum of three months’ service;
(b) Attained the age of thirty;
(c) Recommended by Commanding Officer.
ACCOUNTANT BRANCH.
Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant to Paymaster-Lieutenant.
None entered.
A Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant shall be promoted to Paymaster Lieutenant automatically after two years’ service as Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant (including probationary time) provided that the requisite naval training has been performed and the officer is recommended for promotion.
(a) Attained two years’ seniority as Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant, including probationary time;
(b) Satisfactory record and reports;
(c) Recommended by Commanding Officer;
Or,—
(a) Attained the age of twenty-five;
(b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized service and/or naval training;
(c) Recommended by Commanding Officer;
Or,—
(a) Attained the age of thirty;
(b) Confirmed as Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant after satisfactorily completing a minimum of three months’ service;
(c) Recommended by Commanding Officer.
ELECTRICAL BRANCH, R.N.Z.N.V.R.
Electrical Sub-Lieutenant to Electrical Lieutenant.

(i) (a) Completed two years and six months’ as Electrical Acting Sub-Lieutenant and Electrical Sub-Lieutenant, including probationary time;
(b) Recommended by Commanding Officer;
Or,—
(ii) (a) Attained the age of twenty-five;
(b) Completed four months as Electrical Sub-Lieutenant, including probationary time;
(c) Recommended by Commanding Officer.
SPECIAL BRANCH AND R.D.F. BRANCH, R.N.Z.N.V.R.
Sub-Lieutenant (Sp. Br.) or (R.D.F.) to Lieutenant (Sp. Br.) or (R.D.F.).

(i) (a) Completed two years and six months as Acting Sub-Lieutenant and Sub-Lieutenant (Sp.) (R.D.F.), including probationary time;
