PURSUANT to the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908, the following names of officiating ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenure.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 11th March, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 3 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 13th April, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 15th April, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount due on improvements.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Mangonui County.—Maungataniwha Survey District.

SECTION 10, Block III: Area, 432 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £200. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £7 17s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.

Weighted with £230 for improvements, comprising 420 acres felled, burnt, and grassed (now reverting), fencing, and sheep yards and dip. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £30, the balance may be paid over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £7 19s. 4d.

The property is situated four miles from Peria Post-office, twelve miles from Mangonui Port, five miles from Peria School and Oruru Saleyards, and six miles from Oruru Dairy Factory. Access is from Peria–Kohumaru Road, which is about one mile distant by metalled side road to within half a mile of the section. Approximately twelve acres of the section is in bush, and the balance in poor grass reverted to fern and tea-tree. Undulating, broken country, steep in places; well watered by permanent creeks. Soil consists of poor friable clay on clay and ironstone formation. Suitable as rough run-off for which purpose access is considered sufficient.

Hobson County—Tutamoe Survey District.

PART Section 5, Block V: Area, 94 acres 2 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £35. Deposit on deferred payments £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £1 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 14s.

Weighted with £240 for improvements, comprising felling, grassing, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £40, the balance may be paid over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of £7 17s. to be secured by loading on the lease.

The property is situated one mile from Tutamoe Post-office, nine miles from Donnelly’s Crossing Railway-station and Saleyards, half a mile from Tutamoe School; cream is collected. Access is by metal road nine miles from Donnelly’s Crossing. The land is undulating to hilly and steep; there are 82 acres felled and 40 acres in grass. Fencing comprises road, boundary, and subdivisional. Area well watered by springs and small creek. This property is not suitable for selection as a separate holding but only as a run-off for a farmer holding land in the locality.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 24th April, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 29th April, 1942, at 11 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.

Matamata County.—Maungatautari Survey District.

Lots 101 and 102 of Section 9, Block XII: Area, 1 rood 39·82 perches. Capital value, £40; half-yearly rent, £1.

Weighted with £75 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising two cottages and garage.

This property is situated about half a mile from Arapuni Post-office, access being along Sanders Street off the main Putaruru–Arapuni Road. Sections are suitable as residence sites; water and electric power available.
